Do bald Nitto DRs make a good slick?

Probably a really stupid question, but I remember reading that they do make a good slick after their tread is gone. I bought new ones and dont want to throw out the old ones if they are good for the track.

Same compound, more contact. I'd say it'd be about the same, maybe just a tad better.

:bs: Once A set of tires have gone bald, No matter what rubber compound the tires are, the molecules in the rubber start 2 fuse closer together because of being heated up and cooled down so many times. Causeing the rubber to become harder, and not soft and sticky like new. When a tire is brand new the rubber molecules are further apart making the tire soft. This is why some companies like Tire Rack offer to "Shave" the tread on ur brand new tires when u buy them. By "Shaving" the tread U create more contact patch while Still having new rubber that hasent been abused on already. Same reason why a Slick goes bad, the rubber becomes 2 hard or worn.
