So I don’t wanna beat a dead horse (pony lol) but I’ll be sending my car to the dyno Saturday. The 3650 has some miles on it. Low RPM 2nd gear there’s some noise, not grinding. I’m on the fence about Amsoil and Mobil.

What are you guys/gals using? Not what you’ve read or heard. I’d like to know real use?

Thanks all and sorry if I started a war.

I received this the other day. Feel free to use the code. Everything usually arrives in 1-2 days. Let me know if I can assist further.

From my research the top one is what you will need. You can buy directly from Amsoil or you can do a little research online and find a dealer. I run all of their products in all of my cars, truck, motorhome, motorcycles and the generator in the motorhome! Good luck with the dyno pulls!

Coastal Brand ATF. I believe Mercon V was what I used in my last 3650. It lived behind a blown big bore stroker. I also ran it in two T-56's. I switched to Synchromesh in my current T-56 and didn't feel any difference.

The biggest thing is to remember not to overfill. I believe the fill plug on the 3650 is too high. It only needs around 3 quarts I believe. If you fill to the plug it'll be close to 4 and cause shifting issues.

YMMV.

There is an old TSB about lowering the fluid level in the 3650. I believe the level was supposed to be 1/8-1/4in below the fill plug.

I use Amsoil in my Audi 6MT and Redline D4 ATF in my T45.
The Redline D4 is used for the T3650 as well.
You can't go wrong with either one.

I currently have a bottle of Lucas Oil Transmission Fix w/ Royal Purple Synthetic ATF or the "secret sauce" and it's not going well. Doesn't want to shift into 2nd when the transmission is cold. It's fine once it warms up, but I will be draining and switching out for Synchromesh the next chance I get.
