I grew up building models of the P-51 Mustang and would hang them from my ceiling as a kid. In 2008 when Roush made the P-51, I never thought I would get the chance to own one based on the price and availability. My dream finally came true recently. I thought I would share my excitement with some of you who share the same enthusiasm I do.

I scored#56 out of 151 P-51's made in 2008. I couldn't love this car more. I Sold my S550 for it and do miss that car every day until I get to see the Roush tucked away in the garage.

I swapped out the original wheels just to keep those safe. I dont want to risk any scratches to the Roush wheels.

Very cool and rare car, congratulations. Where did you find it? What are your plans for the car?

I found it from a guy in Fort Wayne, IN. Right now I dont have many plans as I would like to retain its original integrity. Besides a few minor asthetics that can be reversed, I dont think I'll alter much at all.

This is the first I've heard of these cars. Great buy. I like it. What power numbers do they make?

Nice ride. Congratulations! That P-51 Mustang will be a conversation piece because not many people have ever heard of it. You should have a car show plaque with stand made, with the model highlights. Something like this.

Here's a link to the website that makes these. I don't know anything about the company. Just ran into it with Google. https://showcarsign.com/product/car-show-boards/

Very nice. I should’ve bought one of them instead of my 08 427R. But I’m doing the next best thing, converting my 427R to a P51. I already have your forged shortblock and will be getting the TVS hopefully sometime this year.
One thing I’ve always liked about the P-51B models (2009) is the white cue ball shift knob with the P51 emblem on it.
Mild bolt ons will really wake that car up if you want to actually mod it. No harm in doing that just keep all the stock parts.

Nice! I have 2010 Roush "Hammer" with the P51 engine. In 2010 it was rated 540/510. I bought my Hammer last Summer from a guy on this forum.

Is yours a 'Hammer' version?? I don't see many flashy graphics. The Hammers were kept rather plain. I like the badging much better on yours... very cool.

The P-51 is Roush’s premier model. With the reintroduction of the P-51 Roush for the 2017 MY it once again reclaims the title of Roush’s most powerful Mustang yet, at 727HP.
The Hammer is Roush’s “sleeper” model. They were aiming for bare bones. Similar to the 69 COPO Camaro. Bad ass engine without the flashy body kit. It’s also a member of the Roush R model family. The P-51 is a group of its own.

Great info, thanks. Where are you getting this? Is there somewhere I (and the OP perhaps) can go to get educated on the finer details of the various Roush models?

I'm just insanely envious of the P51 badging, hahaha.... ;)

I would say Roush, but the drawback is most of the reps don’t know most of that info. Or they won’t disclose that info. By no means am I bragging. I heavily enjoy the 3V Roush cars. And have done extensive research on them. But I’ve lost a lot of researched I saved on my old phone; it went on strike and can’t be fixed. I could’ve told you want brand hood pins Roush used on some of their models, with that info.
Most of the info is out there but it’s not easily found and Roush won’t disclose their part suppliers for obvious reasons.
The emblem is nice but I quite like your 540RH logo on your hood. I still haven’t found out why it’s on some of the Hammers and not others.

I do like my 540RH, but not as much as the OP's P51.

Look at a comparison of the seat covers. I mean, the Jack Roush logo is kinda nice, but that P51 logo rules the roost!

Those seat covers were an extra $1,725 on my car. How much on yours OP? Do you have the window stickers? There's actually two window stickers... I do know that much... one from Ford to Roush as an 'upfitter package' and then the Roush sticker. Did I get that much right Recon???? :)
