Without removing anything else, if I just unbolt the drivers valve cover how much room is there underneath?

Stupid me was working on the car today and noticed the breather wasn’t all the way in the valve cover. When I looked closer I saw that the grommet had split and the inner half was still inside. Well of course when I went to pull it out it fell in. So now I have a rubber o ring inside the drivers head. I know it will probably just sit there forever but I would really like to get it out.

I don't remember there being a whole lot of room with the master cylinder in place. You might get lucky depending on where the grommet is. But you better pray the valve cover gasket doesn't fall.

Only two ways I know of are remove the master cylinder or drop the motor 4 inches. When I did it to paint the valve covers I lowered the k-member and motor.

As in to just lift cover and reach in

I think you can

The plug well seals.

this may fall off. Or stay.

the towers are tall and that’s why we need room to remove completely

Clutch cable may need to be removed

for the first few inches till booster

the front side of cover seal gets a dab of silicone at timing cover points only.

Being a reuse seal I would try.
