I dont have FB, IG, Twitter, or any of that. Dont plan to either.

That said, im a sucker for classifieds and im most definitely missing out on some good buys on FB Classifieds.. i have friends that send me links all the time.

Unless they changed something recently you should be able to browse the classifieds without an account. I've never had a Facebook account but have browsed the classifieds. If I find something I want I have my brother contact the person since you gotta have an account to send messages.

My wife says IG is the only way to really know all the stuff the kids are up to. She shows me the really good stuff and says I should just get it. I haven't so far because I try to do the opposite of what she wants most of the time and it's worked so far.

Twitter is attractive because I'm guessing over the next few months there are going to be twitter wars that might be worth the read. I know the news channels show a lot of that stuff but I'm starting to think that the news guys are not giving me the complete and honest picture.

many podcasts teach way more than a book. Dan Carlins history podcast taught me more than any book or class could


Hell I wish there was a way I could make money while in my down time at work.

my job is literally.. work for 15 minutes then sit for 3 hours and run my federal test.. then work for 15 minutes and I do 2-3 tests a day

I got rid of my actual facebook 9 or so years ago, but got a troll account with a believable pseudonym that I use for hobby shit and trolling but that's usually it. No way would I let my employer/potential employer see some of the shit I post.

Be careful Facebook banned all my accounts.

Conceptually, I like the concept of people sharing their opinions on social media; however, all social media has been weaponized as a means of mind control for people with weak intellects.

I dumped it years ago and will never return to it, unless I need to control weak minds.

Dan Carlin fan myself. I will say he puts funny emphasis on words sometimes though that bugs me. Still listen.

"Stuff you Should Know" is a great time killer too if you want to learn random facts, trivia and the occasional deep dive into topics you never thought you had interest in. (full disclosure a bit of a left lean if they're talking politics)

Edit: Oh yeah no social media since Myspace when I was in high school. Shit is a plague. Disinformation, petty people and generally just feeding your own views back to you. One person human centipede.

I ditched my facebook account back in April at the height of the pandemic shit, then the impending election drama, and of course the death of the American hero.....George Floyd, just couldn’t deal with the drama and fb’s obvious bias. I couldn’t be happier!

I have my accounts still with IG and Facebook but I don't post anything anymore because I realized early on that I don't really give a shit about what 99% of the people post so why would they care about what I post? Plus, I don't want the attention and don't want my day filled with having to reply back to people commenting on my posts. I just lurk and use it to look at cool stuff, but I don't feel the need to get rid of them.

I'm only on fb and svtp. I'm on a fb page for almost everything I own haha: SVT, L5P, diesel BMW, Spartan mower, Grand Design RVs, etc. I prefer the pages to having a dozen different website logins.

I dumped my FB a week ago. The final straw was when I was getting infractions for things I posted 5,6,& 7 years ago. That's creepy. Either someone is stalking my page and reporting things or it's FB's algorithm erasing the past so they can control the future.
Between that and all the other drama and bull posted above I had had enough. I liked my life a lot more before FB.
I still have a burner account for certain pages I like to follow or find out updates.
