At PRI, Eaton said the major distributors would be getting production rotor packs end of quarter 1. Roush, Edelbrock, and Magnusson are the biggest US players, then hopefully VMP and even BPS will have some news by the end of summer, but to be honest it wouldn't surprise me for SEMA/PRI to be bigger unveilings.
I'm pushing a Gen 2R pretty hard, at least on the dyno until the weather breaks, and I also debated waiting for the 2.7 TVS.
Based on discussions around PRI, I knew it wouldn't be an option his season, but if you look at my recent dyno graph, the boost curve falls off at 4500 and signifies the blower has reached its limit.
I would never personally consider the Whipple 2.9 on a 5.4/5.8.
Under 1000hp, go TVS Gen 2R all day.
For over 1000hp, we are in Whipple 3.4/4.0/4.5 ranges depending on your build strength and goals.
I'd love to adapt a front feed 4.5 on next if I want to get crazy, but 99% sure I will be going TVS 2.7 rotor pack, the only question is what case ....... :)
Any inside updates on new 2650?

See boost curve, ultimately the fresh 5.8 build did 943rwhp SAE on E85 and 21-22 degrees timing, close to maxed overall, and def maxing stock fuel pumps.
    How long will a 2650 hold 19-20psi?
I got 1110 flywheel HP based on a higher pull to 7000rpm and 943rwhp SAE.

Great fun I'm expecting on the street. Nothing like TVS torque response.

The 2.9 whipple can make over 1000 on a pretty mild compression 5.4/5.8. Only real advantage the current 2.3 TVS has is stock motor and low boost to keep the stock motor alive for awhile. I think the new 2.65 TVS will make similar power as the 2.9 both maxed out.

I don't doubt it can, but do you have any graphs to post?
It seems to me the torque comes on lower/harder with the TVS which ultimately makes you faster at the track, especially on heavy stick GT500s.
I'd like to see how cams effect the Whipple torque curve if possible.
I have JDM SS cams in the dyno above, that's a Dynojet SAE corrected.

Yea he ended up making over 1000 on a DJ with the 2.9. About 100 more then you make with the TVS. The 2.9 made 60 at peak and almost 90 at midrange over the Gen 2 TVS with my stock motor car. If the whipple is pullied hard it will come on hard just like the TVS does.

That was for Demon comment. Stupid phone delay. Demon is not TVS 2650.

are you sure? I know they call it a 2.7 supercharger but they always round up .... like they said it makes 840hp (small print 100 octane race gas)

Yes. Hellcat s/c made by IHI and is 2.3L, the Demon got a bigger 2.7 version from IHI, ironic on the TVS numbers similarities but different s/c.
