Hello everyone!

I am about to purchase a new vehicle (used, but new to me). It is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT. It has a 3.4 liter engine, but I have no clue what 3.4 means and if its good, or whatever. I know that vehicles have variations like 2.0, 2.1, 3.5, and so on... But what does it mean?

3.4 is the size of the engine displacment in liters. I don't know anything about the gm 3.4 engine on how good of engine it is or not, sorry.

variants of ecoboost

I bought the 2010 EB MK-S for a winter beater. All wheel drive & the TT 3.5engine. Ford marketing lists it as 355HP, not the 365HP in the SHO.

My guess is that the engine is the SHO engine, and probably with the same tune as used in the automatic SHO. I would doubt that Ford used weak pistons & rods, like they did in the MM/Aviator/Mach 1, vs. the Terminator. Anyone know of engine internals differences in 3.5 Ecoboost among the 150/Flex/MK-S/SHO?

I heard there might be a fusion GT for 2012 or 2013 that will get an EB. Does anyone know if that is true?
