I have 2 weddings to attend in October, I am trying to work it out. I bet you can't wait to run your car with that new motor............So now the question is how much over 200 mph? Good Luck

The engine looks awesome, I can't wait to see what MPH you do at the Texas mile.

Derek, what did you do exactly in your build?

Just rods and cams ? Porting? Are you changing blowers?

I am just curious when you have a chance to answer.

Nice, looking forward to the rest of it..

Another NJ GT500. Nice to see someone else on here.

Im in Cedar Knolls NJ (near Morristown).

Do you do any of the shows at island, raceway park or atco ever? Any other shows that you know coming up?

(mine is grabber blue/white stripes all options except track pack and glass roof)

I'm staying with the 3.6 Kenne Bell

The motor was rebuilt with new pistons, rods, crank, L&M race cams, billet oil pump gear, and slawko cylinder head porting

9.5-1 compression

Was cylinder sleeving a consideration?

Yes
It was a big consideration, but other non-sleeved 5.8's are making 1150-1250 whp with no failures

Evolution's blue GT500 for example

I wanted to sleeve it but I didn't want to wait for the custom sleeve that I wanted.

This is a street build, it has other purposes besides racing
Which is why the compression is 9.5 and it still uses a 3.6 kenne bell

The goal is 200 in the standing mile and still capable of street driving

This car was an 875 whp grocery getter with a 6-point cage
And nobody wanted to try it on the way
