Well I bought my 02 gt back in 2005 when it was bone stock. She first saw a 125 shot for a few years then 10 psi of boost through an 0n3performance turbo kit. Last weekend was the first nice day here in Iowa and got to go for a drive with some brand new bfg drag radials (295/35/18) and needless to say they hooked.

While shifting into 3rd roll racing an Evo owned by a guy from work, I felt something take a dump followed by the most helacious noise I've ever heard come from a car. I don't know what was worse. Losing to a mitsubishi or breaking while racing one lol.

I tried getting a tow by AAA but the guy who was driving the flat bed didn't have any blocks of wood to get the car onto the flat bed without tearing off my bumper. After calling every tow truck in town, with nothing nearby for at least 4 hours (its 10 pm at this point and colder than tits) I said screw it and decided to limp home in second gear. Driving 15 mph for the entire 5 miles back home in fear of the thing completely locking up during the drive back to my house, the sound of metal on metal and random clunks/crunches was attracting all kinds of attention. I drove by a dui check point and every cop standing there was just starring and trying to look under my car. 30 seconds later I did get pulled over and had to explain there wasn't anything dragging under the car, so he escorted me home.
To be honest I was expecting to find a broken shift fork but nothing like what your about to see.

If anybody has a worn out tremec 3650 or t-56 they want to sell me somewhere in the midwest, please let me know. Im looking for something to rebuild

not bad, usually its the mitsubishis that are breaking while racing.

find a used 3650 in your area and swap it in, or if funds allow, T56 swap. shit happens, gotta pay to play.

I blew my stock t56 in my Cobra. When it happened I pulled over and the car would only go into 5th. My buddies pushed me through a parking lot and I got the car to drive in 5th from that parking lot about 2 times to my garage. I had to stop to open the garage door and we couldn't push my car in the garage because it's up a slight hill. I got so mad I jammed the car in first gear as hard as I could and it went it and I pulled in the garage.

So basically the point is, I feel your pain lol.

On the bigger and better things!

nice.. The 3650 will take a beating. I drove the piss out of my 01 gt with 530rwhp and never hurt the tranny. Getting it into third above 6k wouldn't happen, but it never broke. I ended up selling it for 500 bucks, and I got my 26 spline t56 with driveshaft, cross member, and shifter for $700.

I'm going to look at a built 26 spline t-56 a guy has for sale locally some time this week. If I break that thing, its time for a new hobby lol

I will say that 3650 is one hell of a trans considering I have been beating the piss out of it for the last 9 years (it was my dd for the first 8, over 100+ 1/4 mile passes)

That made a terrible noise. Worse than when i blew my damn engine a few years ago

Also for those complaining you cant get a car into gear above a certain rpm, try a WOT box. power shifts are much easier after that. Ironically, mine let go the day i tried my WOT box out. smh.

Mines at Tick performance being fixed/built. I really wish i had it easy as you guys where i can just buy a trans and drop it in.:nono:

That sucks but I'm sure you will take this opportunity to improve this unit taking its place. At least she died a warrior.
