Firewall adjuster all the way out

When i swapped clutches I got a new OEM cable just for good measure. However, when I installed it, the cable seemed longer than the old one (i know it was the right part) and my firewall adjuster needed to be damn near all the way out. I have a single hook quadrant (unknown brand, but looks like MM, same with FW adjuster).

I know some kept the rubber bushing/grommet thing on the OEM cable but my original one didn't have it. Does anyone have a solution from a similar situation that would allow me to tighten the cable and adjuster to give me room in the future?

What clutch did you switch from-to. Pivot ball and fork adjusted right?

OEM all around but I did a d&d tob sleeve. Got a pristine oem nib clutch on here. Ford pilot bearing and tob.

Dont have much for you then. I had the same problem when I switched to a T56 Mag and RXT but just figured it was the new setup. Got and adjustable cable, no issues. Best of luck.
