I am interested to find out more about the earlier 03's having very firm clutch pedals. I remember driving my buddy's early 03 and did remember the clutch was like 50% stiffer than my 99. I am concerned about this because I recently purchased a complete driveline out of an 03, but I don't know when the 03 was manufactured. From what I understand, Ford has significantly reduced the pedal pressure in the later 03s. Is that correct? If so, is there any way I can identify if I have the "fix"? My parts are still laying in the garage so it should be easy for me to check.
Also, I have read somewhere on this board that a "simple" pedal adjustment is all that's needed to reduce the pressure and ease the stress on the TOB.
I think my 99 is a little firm, but manageable. The last thing I want is a much stiffer clutch pedal. I do a lot of stop and go driving.
Any info would be appreciated.
