Here's a little update on the build plan, after talking with Jordan Martin at Modular Head Shop I will not be going with the titanium spring retainers (not needed for my application) and will be swapping out my connecting rods for Oliver Std lightweight rods. Jordan will be building my block as well, stoked for that.

Are the Olivers stronger than the Molnars? Or do you not need the strength of the Molnars?

Still gathering parts. I found out I have early 03 cobra AC/AB heads and I'm contemplating if I should buy DB heads. I know they come with 9 threads but I can get that done on my current heads. (Cheaper that way)

Looks good. I have a 99 Cobra engine minus a few parts on storage. I've been thinking about a build but with twins. This gives me a good starting point.

Let me double-check but it came with the one you circled and the smaller one, yeah so after checking it came with 16 small and 16 big lash adjusters. I went through Jordan at Mod Head shop for these. He recommends these with the GT500 followers.

If you are using 03 Cobra heads, you use 32 of the larger ones. Jordan should know that, give him a call.

I have a ton of info I can post in here to help from years of gathering others people advice and hope it can help. Will share after work tomorrow hopefully. Hopefully some of the very knowledgeable guys on here will chime in, tons of knowledge here.

I'd go with comp cams. They are PROVEN the best.

If you are going street driven ditch the titanium retainers and save the money with tool steel. I've heard it is a marginal weight difference, and steel has much better long term wear properties than titanium.

He sort of explained it the same way to me, so ill be going with tool steel for retainers. Thanks for the input.

For those of you that are still gathering parts for your build here is an update on my current build. My Teksid block is currently with TKM performance. I'm doing an 11:1 compression ratio. Wiseco pistons with Molnar PWR ADR rods and a new Manley forged crank. I will upgrade the wrist pins to h-13 pins. My heads are still being ported by Jordan MHS. They are done with everything, just waiting on valve guides. I also upgraded to DB castings. Todd Warren is still waiting on cores to ship. Right now it's a big waiting game as we all know.

Due to my job I haven't been able to update my thread, but I just received my stage 4 ported DB-9 heads from Jordan at MHS. As for the short block TKM is almost done with it. But here's a quick breakdown,

Engine:
96 Teksid block .20 over
Wiseco custom pistons 11.1 compression
Molnar PWR ADR rods
Manely 4340 forged crank 3.572
ARP2000 head studs and mainstuds
Shelby mike billet timing arm kit
Wonder racing modified iron tensioners
Accufab 9mm chain guides
Accufab billet backplate
Accufab primary chains
Accufab billet trigger wheel
Boundary 3v oil pump with billet backplate and gears
98 cobra crank sprocket
MHS bronze freeze plugs for Teksid blocks
GT500 oil pan
New OEM GT500 coils
ARP fasteners throughout the block (MMR)

Heads:
DB-9 Stage 4 MHS port package
Todd Warren custom cams with drivabilty being the biggest goal then power band 2nd
GT Supercar adjusters/followers (GT500)
PAC RPM series springs
Manely oversize +1 valves
bronze valve guides
Accufab TEN-4 kits (guide & chains)
Wonder racing HCM
Comp Cams adjustable cam gears

I'm missing more but you can see my progress on inst @svt_supra

By the way, I'm no subject matter expert on building engines. I just do a lot of research and I reach out to the cobra community for guidance often. Good luck
