Here we go. First time at the track in my 04 Mach 1. Ive got a shifter, and full exhaust un tuned. Im hoping to take it to a test and tune this thursday and borrow some drag radials from a friend. It has an after market clutch that is from ford and better than factory but im not sure how much. Now im hoping to lower the tires a lot, and get them nice and warm for a sticky launch. What rpm should I try and launch at, and should I slip the clutch real quick till im rolling then go balls out? or just dump the clutch from 4-5 grand? I have friends with clutch trouble, and its a newer clutch, but im worried if i just drop the clutch it might slip from trying to hook so hard... Also, its just the stock 8.8 Mach1/GT rear end. it should handle the abuse, but I dont have much experience with them...And my 1-2 synchros are going out, so ill be not power shifting it around 5-6k rpm.

Cliff note:
What rpm should I launch a stockish Mach 1?
How should I release the clutch?
Will I kill my stock rear end?

Ive been there once before, but in my Taurus DD :p 16.5 at 84 mph!
