Couldnt you just mount a large electric generating wind mill in the bed and essentially drive on electricity forever?

As you move the truck forward the wind causes the windmills turbines to spin and generate electricity giving the truck the power to move forward!

Ford rallies as ambitious all-electric plans confirmed at investor event
  • Ford (NYSE:F) is holdings its highly-anticipated Capital Markets Day event this morning.
  • The Detroit automaker confirms its electric transformation with an announced plan for 40% of all Ford volume to be all-electric by 2030. The company also boosts its electrification spending forecast to +$30B by 2025.
  • Ford points to its +70K reservations for the F-150 Lightning as an indication of strong consumer interest in Ford EVs. The company notes that E-Transit commercial vans will be on the road later this year.
  • Ford also announces the creation of Ford Pro vehicle services and distribution business, which it says will be fully dedicated to high productivity requirements of commercial and government customers.
  • During the presentation, Ford will outline more details on the new BlueOvalSK joint venture with SK Innovation to manufacture battery cells and arrays at two plants in the U.S. for future Ford and Lincoln vehicles.
  • More reveals are anticipated during the presentation.

Ford looks to jolt electric vehicle sector with new tech-heavy strategy
  • Ford (NYSE:F) is in the spotlight today as it holds its Capital Markets Day in a virtual format.
  • Execs highlighted the upside for investors and customers from the Ford+ strategy that includes new electrified models, OTA updates, charging services, full autonomy and new customer services.
  • Ford wants an "always on" relationship with customers that will unlock new growth opportunities.
  • The Detroit automaker continued to talk up its electric push via popular models like the Mustang Mach-E crossover, E-Transit, Bronco and F-150 Lightning. The electric push will lead to even more undisclosed models per CEO Jim Farley.
  • Ford revealed its new tech stack called Blue Oval Intelligence will deliver new features via the cloud. Ford said its goal is to lead the electric revolution. Obviously, the automaker will have heavy competition from Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), General Motors (NYSE:GM) and Volkswagen (OTCPK:VWAGY) as it pursues that goal.
  • Despite the big investment in EVs, Ford's ultimate vision is to boost profitability significantly via scale and services revenue.
  • Ford mentioned that it is investing in solid-state batteries in what could be a positive sign for QuantumScape (QS +4.7%).
  • Ford is also creating a standalone Ford Pro business to focus on the commercial business.
  • Ford wants its connected services business to grow right past Tesla in terms of drivers.
  • In an early reaction to Ford's big day, Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives says the automaker's heavy push into electric vehicles is a further indication that the industry is in the first inning of a $5 trillion market opportunity over the next decade. Ford will be on watch for the rest of the week for potential analyst upgrades.
  • Shares of Ford are up 4.29% in early trading to $13.36.
