They are MUCH lighter because the counterweights were machined down, VERY trick cranks!

Will they need significant balancing efforts to accept an 03 cobra forged rod and piston?

Not really, these are genuine Cammer 5.0 cranks which were crated for the cammer program in 2008 so they are very different from the 1996 crank that you refer to. They feature improved oiling, drilled rod journals, machined front, rear and center counterweights. As for balancing they include a digital balance sheet but they can be rebalanced to any piston and rod combination including the 03/04 cobra (which may not require balancing but MUST still be checked)

Lastly to put things into perspective of this great deal a brand new Cobra/Kellogg crank is $700+
