PICS HAVE BEEN ADDED DOWN IN THE THREAD

I thought I would start here in case there are any MACA members interested before I put it in the Market section and on Craigslist and all the Turbo Ford boards....so here goes.

1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 5 speed
Nostril Hood Birds, ya know um
:pepper:76K ORIGINAL MILES:pepper:
LIGHT BLUE IN COLOR
GRAY CLOTH INTERIOR

EXTERIOR:
Passenger door damage, no mirror, window does not work (we found one for 100 bucks in NY, but did not pull trigger):bash:

Minor dents above left rear wheel

INTERIOR:

Good condition, could use detailed

MECHANICAL:

Cars runs great and is quick, Turbo spools fast and is strong.
Car PULLS great for the 2.3

Needs bigger fan on radiator, might need a water pump.
Brake rotors could use a turning....easy fixes

Idle sticks high on occasion and think it is an electronic sensor.

The car has been recently tuned up, and just passed the State inspection.

BACKGROUND INFO:

I found this car for my Nephew (Brothers Son), and when we bought it 3 years ago it was in MINT condition. Had 60K on the clock…

Nephew not a great car buff and now car not in MINT condition.
He bought a Honda Civic SI, and left the Turbo Coupe in his Dad’s driveway when he went in Navy.

Diane’s brother came from England to visit and we bought the car from my brother so he would have something to drive, (other than my L or Cobra).

He is back in England, I just got the FOCI back:banana:, and we need room in the driveway so the Bird has to go.

This would be a great project car/build it for track use (Doug) or it would make a fun DD with a little TLC given to it.

The car has many new parts done at a dealer when Nephew owned it.
I would have to reach back to my brother to find out the list.

Clutch is one of them though.

Might list it for 2000 OBO on other boards, but first 1600 bucks could drive home in it that day  (Diane has 1600 in it):poke:

We can get pics posted soon or to email if folks are interested.

Lemme know.

Sorry Ken, while I think a turbo coupe would be a fun commuter, I am not looking for a big car with a 4 cylinder. If I go the 4 cylinder route, it is going to be in a Honda Civic or a Miata. Something that has a lot of aftermarket support and a ton of cheap parts available.

I thought Di's brother was sticking around for a while, why did he take off?

I hear you Doug, Miata's are for girls:lol:

Lots of aftermarket support for these cars, just like the old fox's.

Di's brothers visa expired and something about me being an Employee of DHS and harboring an illegal alien did not mix well:poke::poke:

His paperwork is still in the process so he can be legal and get a job.

If I did not have so many damn vehicles, I would keep this thing and have fun with it...

1600 for a fun DD is not much

Will try to get some pics today.

I will leave it on MACA site this weekend and will then go all out nest week with other forums and craigslist etc...

I can email pics easier and faster than posting and will do for those who are interested.

So PM if you are interested before next week. We are not any kind of a huge hurry, other than I would love the driveway space back.

MY 1st car was an 88 turbo coupe... That idle problem is most likely the throttle position sensor.. i had the same problem with mine.. if i had some extra cash i'd def scoop this up. i paid 800 for mine and it had 168k on it and still spooled great..

Good to know, with a little work and TLC this will make a sound and fun car... I just don't have the time or space at this time to keep another car at this time.

It spools great and is low mileage.

If only you were closer....I've got the money, but wouldn't want to try and drive it all the way back.....

It drives fine, real good, I would not worry about driving it to Ga...

And we may be letting this deal go for just north of 1k... I need the space and have other things coming in.

Ken, do you still have this? My Father in law needs a DD to last him for another year or two. His Escort just got totaled.
