I am getting ready to finish off my 2 car garage. The plan is to do use galvanized metal roofing for the ceiling (already have this material), finish the two side walls in pallet wood or barn wood (rustic look), and then finish the front and rear (where roll up doors are) in white sheetrock. On the rear wall will be my workbench. Doing a pegboard rear wall on that, and possibly finishing it off with an angled cover with matching galvanized tin as a topper if I have enough left over.

I really want to do some LED can lights in the main area with LED tube lights up in the canopy of the workbench.

Let me see some of your "out of the ordinary" garage lighting options!

Ignore the mess, we're in the middle of construction.

These lights do an excellent job of lighting up the area. They come with an eye hook and I connected them with a caribiner to an eye hook in the ceiling. Got them from build.com. Brand is satco. I was really concerned that they might not be enough for 15 ft high ceilings, but they were more than enough. 20201227_165954.jpeg

    **** Inslee, NO MORE MASKS!

Try checking out the CANOPY LIGHT FIXTURE LED on AMAZON. I don't have pictures right now but they are totally amazing and not too big.

Definitely a lot of options when I look that up. I like some of them. Looking for a finished fixture with a bright look, and a few of these might fit the bill.

Quality shop lighting isn’t cheap. I won’t install anything a customer tries to supply from amazon.

Talk to a real electrical supply house and they will have staff that handles this and will work with you. Sketch out the work space your intended uses for the areas and they’ll create a lighting package for you.

Grabbed a set of these from Amazon and the light output is worth the short amount of coin. I’ve only set up four total bulbs and I’m happy with the end result, might get a few beers in me one night and throw the extra two in for the hell of it.

Perfect thread! I plan to redo my 3 car garage in the spring and currently running 3 100w LED bulbs from Walmart that do the job, but it could certainly be better.

Has anyone ever used any of those LED leaf bulbs? Something like this:
150W LED Garage Light, 15000 Lumens Deformable New Four Leaf Tribright Lighting, 4 Adjustable Panels Quadruple Glow Garage Light, CRI 80, 6000K Garage Ceiling Light for Warehouse, Basement, Barn

My cousin is an electrician and besides more outlets in the garage, I'm also planning to expand lighting.

I read some reviews on those, and one car site actually rated them as one of the best on the market for the price. They look pretty good for the light output!

I pieced together a LED setup using housings below and then found 4’ LED lights at Home Depot (triangular bulbs, not round).

Here’s a progress pic when I was wiring/installing. Mustang included for effect haha

These work excellent. I bought a 3 panel 80w for my girlfriend's garage and for the money, you can'tgo wrong. I can only imagine a 4 panel with higher wattage!

I have 9 of these in the shop. it's like daylight. They screw in to a regular lightt socket and you can aim the paddles.

I bought some similar to these.

They were at the hardware store and went by the name of "beyond bright", and I think they cost me $30 a piece, and I would definitely buy them again.

I even told my brother about them and he out them in his garage and he couldn't nbe happier.

I've got the same lights. I only have two of them and they light up the whole garage like it day time. I'm really impressed. They replaced an expensive box fixture (not sure what type) and provide MUCH more light than the old one. If I added two more, the light would be overkill. They're that bright. Just screw them into a standard ceiling fixture and adjust the paddles. Done! And the cost is only about $30 a fixture. I bought mine on Amazon but Home Depot sells them, too.
