Gates RPM belts?

Can we get an update on people's opinions on them? I need a new belt for my Centri car, I think the K081102RPM which is basically 1" longer than the HD belt Ive been running MIGHT work. The current belt is well above 50% tension, sounds like the RPM equivalent size would break.

Where are you seeing that size listed? I have a recent Gates parts listing and that size isn't shown. The largest they show is a 108.8".

Just got a reply back from gates saying they have a k081092rpm and the one listed above. I emailed them asking if they were gonna make any longer ones. They also have a 112.x.... email won’t load for some reason

So it needs to be longer than the other belts that you typically run?? that sucks.. I run a 115.3" belt lol. They'd need to make like 116" or something then right?

I need to ditch my power steering so my belt length is short so I can use this belt.

They say the tensioner should be around 50%. I’m gonna double check with the new HD belt I got but I think mines much higher than that (where the tensioner rests with no belt being 0 load and all the way over with a ratchet being 100%).

I could probably use a 112" belt. I currently run a 116" belt, but I use an RR Manual tensioner to take up the slack and can pretty much set the auto tensioner wherever it needs to be using the manual tensioner.

I wanted to run one, but like everybody else said, I didn’t see a long enough one. Running a 113” green back or I will be when my car runs.

I have been using them for 4 years now. My belt length is a little shorter (81.5"), so my input may not be 100% applicable, but I figured I would chime in. I have no complaints and have had no issues. Belt life has been fantastic. My setup with these belts has always been 6 rib and a 69mm or smaller diameter pulley.

I’m gonna get the car on the dyno and then decide if I’m gonna just go smaller alternator pulley or OD crank pulley before shelling out on an rpm belt.

I believe this standard duty belt is chirping after very few miles

In going to give one a whirl this season. I too have a much shorter requirement than a lot of you guys so I can just get one at NAPA.

The tensioner should be at 50% correct?
