Then it’s a good thing when the customers will want the 250 or TRX to get a proper power plant.

How many units will the R be limited too....750 or 1k a year driving the adm crazy high.

mid expect the ADM on the raptor R to be crazy. I’m sure people will pay it, but for the casual shopper if they want the off road truck with the V8 the TRX will likely be plentiful at that point.

I’d do a 250 over a Raptor at this point. Either 7.3 or diesel.

Meh, disappointed again! Figures FORD is behind again. They should have just put the RAPTOR on a 1 year hiatus and came back strong. Instead, they tease us. GT500 all over again?
So you either buy a small fugly suv with FORD or you have to sell a Kidney for a "EXOTIC CAR" priced vehicle that may compare to a DODGE in performance. lol
Brand loyalty is being tested for sure these past few years.

that's not the case with the Raptor though. the truck sells like hotcakes either way. many, many people wanting a V8. some go elsewhere because they dont want a V6.
if the truck came with a V8 motor, i dont think you would see anyone going elsewhere because it has a V8 instead of a V6 lol.

Ford customers want a V8 in the GT, Raptor and Bronco. instead they give us the ecoboost.
im really surprised Ford hasnt gotten rid of the V8 in the mustang yet and just crammed a twin turbo V6 down our throats and told us we'll eat it and like it. that's basically what theyre doing to the other vehicles. Big Daddy Ford knows whats better for you than you do.

someone needs to find out who at Ford Corporate is still forcing the ecoboost mantra on everyone and send HRC to pay that guy a visit.

pretty sure it's been beaten to death that it's being used because it does well in EPA testing for CAFE standards. Dodge is not going to be able to play this "Hellcat the world" game much longer. Props to em for sacking up and doing it while they can.

While the launch is once again handled like shit Ford will have no trouble selling every raptor they pump out, V8 or not. Pricing will still determine it but overall I think I'll end up with an F150 Tremor instead

Dodge is putting a V8 powered hellcat motor in everything and Ford can't put a V8 in the raptor? No thank you.

The sad part is most buyers would choose an underpowered V8 over the Ecoboost too. Give it a rock-solid reliable 350-400hp 7.3L and it would still outsell a 500hp ecoboost imo. But we'll never really know.

At least with the bronco it has a lot of upside to it. That thing just looks perfect inside and out. It would be a tough choice between that or the jeep 392.

    That's not true.

Say Ford can build 25,000 Raptors for MY21.

Whether they build 25,000 V6 Raptors, or 25,000 V8 Raptors....Ford will sell 25,000 Raptors this year.

Yea fair point. They will sell every single unit regardless of how they're equipped.

At this point, even GM is in on the act by slapping the LT4 under the hood of the new CT5V-BW. Might not be the car for everyone, but at least there's a 668+ hp 4 door sedan from the US of A as an option from GM and Dodge now.
I don't think we are far from seeing an LT4 powered Escalade as well.
Can't imagine a Predator powered Expedition R, but it would be awesome.

not much of a choice when the 392 jeep will be $75k lol. if they put the standard hemi in the wrangler, in all trims, they would sell like crack. id trade mine in asap. no way im getting a 392 wrangler lol. seems kind of the same thing with the Raptor. for someone who just bought a Raptor in the last two years, are they going to be that enthused to upgrade to the new one? because of coil springs and 37s? im sure many wont be able to spring for the R version. had they put an n/a V8 in the new Raptor base model, i bet many would be trading in their new ecoboost Raptors for them.

for the regular fleet sure but not limited production Raptors. if that were the case then the new GT500 would be ecoboost V6 as well. maybe old man Shelby put stipulations in the agreements with Ford that the GT350 and GT500 will never have anything but a V8 lol.

lol, no doubt. They should strip down the F150, put a 7.3L in it, call it a triceratops and profit. The not giving customers what they want attitude is getting old.
