Glad I live in the US and not the UK.

So the wife and I have been in the UK since the 21st of November. My son and his wife live here and they just had their 2nd child (another boy) so we flew over to help them out and meet the newest addition. While all the family stuff is great, and I am very grateful I'm able to see my grand kids, I have to admit I really don't like this country all that much and am ready to get the hell out of here! Without going into a bunch of specifics I'll just say that the US is still the greatest country on earth and you really feel this hit home when you are outside of her borders for an extended period of time. You don't realize how good we have things until you don't have them.

While out walking around in this little town the other day I stumbled across a bit of graffiti sprayed on a wall so I took a quick snap of it with my cell. It was behind a textile business at the end of a residential area. I thought it was quite poignant and wanted to share the message.

Thoughts?

It's etched in my minds eye. The day I asked my grandfather if he had any brothers or sisters. That expanded into other questions about his childhood. He was born 1895 and walked across Europe leaving his parents and siblings behind, never to see them again. He boarded a ship to sail to Canada working as a hand. Made his way to Pennsylvania to work in the coal mines where he lost his lower legs in two separate mining accidents. Fathered 8 kids 5 of whom served in ww2 at the same time. When I asked him if he ever wanted to go back to see his family, he said they likely all passed by now and that there was nothing to see or go back to.
As a kid around 5 it was hard to wrap my head around not having parents or family, especially having so many cousins and Aunt's and Uncles now. He was only 13 when he started his journey.

Only before COVID I romanticized about going to visit the old country. After seeing how they responded with the response.......it's now NEVER.

Modern art genius!

It took Tolstoy 1225 pages in "War and Peace" to describe the world around him.

This guy goes to the bottom of a dead end alley and on a brick wall above a wild marijuana plant somehow manages to sum up today's world in just 8 words.

Impressive!

Before you completely give up on the place at least try some really hot and fresh fish and chips served in a rolled up cone of newspaper.

Pro tip: sprinkle their vinegar on your fries.

Fly over country
I lived overseas in high school. I’ve been to several different countries/continents. Europe, Asia, Africa. I am pretty pessimistic about our country for obvious reasons. I hate how socialism/communism is now reverent and noble in our country. I hate how half or more of country has a twisted view of its history and what it stands for. I hate a lot of things about it right now but, as you said, even after everything we see it is still the greatest country on earth. If I’m honest though, it isn’t saying much. Just goes to show how horrible and dumb nearly every other country is. The global movement of lgbt and communism is bringing the world down…thankfully we were pretty high to start. Other countries didn’t have so far to fall.

As far as my desire to visit other states, let alone countries…that’s long gone after 2020. I like my redneck, hillbilly state.

I just heard also, that some places in the UK are "trying" climate lockdown "scenario" in 2024. Electric gates at the edges of the town. The 15 minute city or some B.s..

I'll take your word for it. However I bet it won't last much longer (the Christmas lights that is). Christians are now the minority in England & Wales so you can expect all the Muslims who have replaced them to kill the tradition before much longer. England and Wales now minority Christian countries, census reveals

Oh the wife and I are big fans of Fish & Chips with malt vinegar. Our biggest bitch is that 99% of the places which serve it are takeout only and have no seating. None of them open until 4:30PM or later either. There is not a single Chippy close enough to us where we can purchase a fresh order and get it home while it's still warm. It's a couple mile walk to the nearest one and none of the good ones deliver!

We are in Crewe UK. It's a great place to catch a train.... out to somewhere else!

No shit America is the greatest country… lol.

IT IS UNDER ATTACK. Everything that you love about it, is being perverted. Grain by grain, its being eroded away…

Every time you watch NFL, drink Coke, wear new Nikes, etc… You are supporting the machine that is eating her away!

I almost got jumped for saying stuff like this in the past. I gave up watching NFL or any pro sports with the whole BLM push & for health reasons I try & avoid the soda all together. Every now & then I'll drink a bottled Mexican coke or drink. Don't have brand name advertising clothing, & trying to grow my own food while my beef products get bought from local farmers. But it's almost impossible to avoid the system, for they have all their bases covered.

I totally agree. Same thing, try to avoid partaking with the same machine that seeks to destroy us. As much as possible…. Feels like I am now a
damn tinfoil wearing guy…. But I know it is the right thing to do…

Could you elaborate a bit on what you found so offputting about a small English town?

My wife wants to visit England and I already said I don't want to go near London if possible. Is there anything worth seeing where you are at?

I wear my tinfoil hat proudly lol. Fifteen years ago when I would be made fun of for talking about the system, crooked fed, NWO stuff, I would question my sanity. Now I just feel reassured.
