As mentioned in the title I would appreciate some help as a new GT500 owner and Mustang noob. After a couple of miles I have a bunch of questions:

  1. I tried 0-60 mph runs up to 7k and ECU cutoff but I do not get result from the track apps. Obviously I have never reached 60 mph also according to the technical data the car should go 62 mph at redline. Any ideas?
  2. It “feels” that the engine loses power from 6k on. It does not fell right (fast) to go to 7k. Again according to the technical data, the highest power should be achieved between 6250-6500 rpm. It “feels” better to shift at 6k or even below. Could that be related to the 91 octane that I am using? Does anybody know the difference between 91 and 93, are we talking about <1 % or is the different octane rating really noticeable? Perhaps I need to dyno it to check my feeling.
  3. The battery voltage is very low (<12 V) without the engine running. That is confusing because normally one can use that value to determine the battery load status. But somehow the gauge does not show something similar to an open circuit voltage. Instead it draws so much current that the battery is under moderate load already and shows that non useful value. Has anybody else recognized that? After I saw that the first time I wanted to load the battery with an external charger. A voltage measurement at the battery showed the right value then.
  4. Another “thing” I recognized was the vibration. I feel this only when the engine is warm. The idle is stable but the chassis vibrates. I once opened the hood and touched the engine but the engine seems to vibrate less. It looks like the chassis is vibrating “around the engine”. I feel this in the seat and one can see that clearly if looking at the shift knob. Once I talked to my kids with running engine and open driver door and then one could see how strongly the end of the door vibrates. Does that description match experiences from other GT500 owners or is there perhaps something wrong with that car?
  5. I was looking through the Ford Racing catalog and saw a nice lower control arm (e.g. see pics here http://images-ftp.americanmuscle.co...,50157_alt2,50157_alt3&selectedImg=50157_alt3) but was quite confused that this should be the OEM equipment because my LCA on the 2014 GT500 looks different (e.g. here http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/e~QAAOxyni9S~rJy/$_35.JPG). Is this information or the picture wrong or do I have the wrong LCA installed?

I hope some other will share their experiences on these points. Thanks a lot.

1,2,4,5 can be dependent on whether you bought the car new or used. Also, is it stock or have you modded it? If it's used, was it sold to you modded? If the car is stock, it might be worth giving all the manuals a once over with the good old Mark 1 eyeball. This might help you figure out the track app issue for a start.

As for 3, I'm not sure if that is normal or not. Never bothered to look at that particular reading.

First post and no pics???

Is the car stock? How many miles?

1. I have not tried the track apps for a 0-60, but it should hit 60 in first. Any wheel spin?
2. Mine pulls all the way to 7k. I really don't think that you could feel the difference between 91 and 93. It's too bad we can't find 93 here anymore!
3. The battery voltage does seem low. What does the gauge show when it's running?
4. Mine is the same way.
5. My lower control arms look like the second pic.

Car is quite new (oct 13), no mods, 1500 miles.
1. Nobody tried the 0-60 timer? There is wheel spin but not at the end of the rpm range.
2. The car also pulls to 7k but it is loosing a lot of power after 5500-6000 rpm. I would guess that the power peak is below 6000 rpm. Has anyone dyno results for 91 and 93?
3. With running engine it is around 13.9 V. Nobody checked that gauge without engine running?
4. Vibration should be okay, thanks.
5. That is a pity because the FR LCAs are looking much stiffer and these should be the standard equipment not the sheet metal ones...

I just checked my 13 and the cold voltage with key on was 11.9 vdc and 14.1 vdc at high idle (cold start).

Check and make sure the SC coolant pump is plugged in and functional.

On the dyno my peak power stock was at 6500 and held to 7000. After a few mods, same peak about 6500 and stays flat to 7000.

Does this happen in all gears? Have you tried it with traction control off?
