Got a better picture of my Glock 29 and I took a chance and ordered this light from Amazon. I am super happy with it. 1200 lumens with 70 hours of battery life for $100 shipped. Highly reccomend it if anyone is looking for a budget light. It is insanely bright, and looks to be built well. View attachment 1438655

Wish that fit my HK VP9-SK. VP9 isn't a problem. SK is. Actually, I haven't found a light that will fit. I continue looking.

Im shopping around for my next build. Going to make a "practical" and useful CQB rifle/pistol. Depending on rules I may run it as a pistol while I wait for an SBR to be registered. Basis so far is CMMG 8.5in upper chambered in .300 Blackout fitted to run my incoming 7.62 Rugged Surge. Not set on optic but it will most likely be an Eotech style optic. Not trying to break the bank so I may go with abother Holosun like I have on my 16" CMMG which has been a great optic.

Open to suggestions for deals but I have had great luck with all things CMMG. They just always work and always deliver without stumbling. I want this thing as small as possible because when I use it I want it to always be with the suppressor for obvious reasons. Anyine have anything similar?

I also have the ability and access to mill my own lower. Any suggestions or things I need to know with what I have planned above? It's obvious it wikl have to comply but is that an automatic no-go with an SBR? It doesn't matter to me either way, just something else I would have to buy.

I was blessed with getting an original AAC 300 Blackout. Remington bought them and F***ed up the rifle line to the point that they don't exist anymore. Now they just make cans.

My own opinion... find an original AAC, even if its used. You won't find a better 300 Blackout than the original.

If you dont mind, can you explain further? What makes AAC's ability to make a firearm better than anyone else?

Considering how they don't make firearms anymore, nothing.

That said, however, they are the company that invented the 300 Blackout iteration of the AR. I have owned 12 different brands of 300 Blackout SBR rifles and pistols (under 10" barrels). AAC is the only brand that has the gas system right, so it feeds and cycles every single round, from the fattest and heaviest subsonic round to they highest presure, lightest supersonic round with out having to make any changes... and I mean none.

Every other brand, I've have to change buffers, springs, tune the gas block over and over as I go from SUB to Hyper and back. None of them worked every time no matter what, except for the AAC.

I believe that because they came up with the concept of the round and gas system, no one is going to do it as well as they did.

So, back to my original statement... in my experience and opinion, if you want the best, most reliable, get an AAC.

Gotcha. I have shot two other manufacturers .300 Blackout rifles and in my experiences they worked fine but of course they aren't mine so I didn't get to really work them. My friends that own them said they haven't had any of those issues so rather than search for the older AACs Im willing to take the chances on the CMMG and figure out the issues if any arise. Appreciate the input though. At least I know going into it what to look out for. Like I mentioned, I have never had any issues with CMMGs as they have always been very solid performers where I have experienced minimal malfunctions.

What would you recommend for building a 300 blackout ar pistol?

No worries... just trying to provide a bit of insight from my experience.

I would recommend finding one specific and popular subsonic and one specific and popular supersonic that work well and stick with them. That will greatly reduce the chance of unreliable performance.

For me, I went with Remington for both. Since the AAC engineer went over to Remington, I figured I would give them a try. Their 120's and 220's are very consistent I can can find them everywhere, including Wal-Mart. Of course... those are just examples.

Good luck and looking forward to hearing the range report!

If I am buying a new complete rifle or pistol in 300 Blackout over the counter and AAC can't be found, "today" I wouldn't buy anything but a Daniel Defense.

Building with what we have available today? ...

AAC barrels and gas blocks are still floating around. I would start there. If you don't find a length you like (supply is getting thin) I would get a Noveske.

Alexander Arms has nice uppers. They are machined very well.

I like BMC uppers and lowers also. They are very good quality. I have a Bravo Company lower that I put heavy use on, with frequent trigger changes, and I am not seeing any since of elongated pin holes.

Most rail systems don't matter much... but stick with free-float. I'm partial to KAC.

I also like Bravo Company BCG's.

As far as I am concerned... no other triggers exists for AR's except the Geissele Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E) trigger for precision (2-stage) and the Geissele Super Dynamic 3 Gun (SD3G) trigger for extreme speed (single stage). Screw all the others.

Also, if you want reliable minute of man out to 350-400 yards, get the low-profile Bravo Company fixed A2 front sight and low-profile carry handle rear sights.

Troy or Bravo Company ambi charging handle.

Stocks, grips, tubes, etc... shooter choice.
