my 1/8 was 7.509 @ 97.38 MPH.

here is a video of the 11.52 run

another of a 11.60 pass

I know I can cut a couple 10th's off with a better launch and 1-2 shift.

I feel your pain with the grind, it was so bad with the stock shifter that I still don't trust the 1-2...having to re-train myself to trust that it'll go in. I've not had a grind issue with the Tri-Ax, but i only had about 5 runs at the track, and there aren't any roads around here I feel comfortable power shifting 1-2.

Good luck with the new set up, hopefully you already have a shifter in there, that made a HUGE difference in my car. Let me know how you do!

I agree, at your mods, a good run will net another .2 or so easy. These cars with just pulley/tune are low 7sec 1/8th capable. your 1/8th mph is in range also. I have run 98.6 so far. Good to see some 1/4 time and mph to compare with same 1/8th range. Thanks.

BTW, I DO have a shifter... MGW.. it didn't fix the issue.. I have also installed a stainless Joe Heck Racing clutch line, and CHE K-Member brace with torque limiters. I don't see how another shifter would fix my grinding issue if the MGW didnt fix it. Hopefully the Mcleod and fresh slave cylinder will do the trick.

If u don't mind a slight bit more bulge the 315/35/20 NT05R's are also a great tire..fit in the wheel well also on stock svtpp suspension..below is a vid of them on my car 15.5psi warm.

I looked into the 315s but heard you need to cut a bracket off to keep from rubbing? Can't remember the details. They fit with zero modification to the bracket and work well? Nice run... 131mph, what are your mods? Thanks for the tire info.

BTW, just watched your vids Mach.. you might want to try your burnout in 2nd gear. Get your mph up to 50-60mph range. That's what someone who runs some damn good times recommended to me. I just installed my speeddawg shifter knob with built in button to use for a line lock. Need to save the rear brakes and will make burnouts alot easier.

The wheels I ordered are the Racestar 94 Series Darks. 15x10 w/ 7.5" backspacing. Not sure about the GT's but on the GT500 7.5 backspace range is where you want to be. I looked at a cheap route to go for track only wheels, and looked at Jegs brand stars...only 134.00 but they only have them in 6.5" bs.. which would stick out 1 inch more than the 7.5s. I wouldn't think that was a huge deal..but not sure.. would have to see pics of a 6.5" bs set on a s197.

I'm running 15x10 Racestars with a 7.5" backspace as well. They fit the 28x13.50 Hoosiers perfectly. No rubbing at all.

Those tires look sweet on there. At my current power level I will probably go with 26x10 slicks. Will put me through the traps at the range I need to be.

Thanks for posting this. I was also considering the 305/35/20 Nittos as a future mod but was wondering about the rim width and clearance issues if I lower it with either the Eibach pro kit or Roush springs. There is a place close to me called Weldcraft in Michigan...they widened my friend's Boze wheels for his Shelby to 11.5" for a couple hundred bucks. He's running 325's! If anyone considers doing this, with a larger width rim and tire, is there issues with the suspension (arm) getting in the way?

325s on a wider rim I believe will need modifications. There is a bracket on the inner tire well that needs to have the spot welds drilled and it needs to be removed etc. There is a post somewhere, maybe on this site concerning this. If not here, it may have been on fordgt500.com.

That is a possible future plan. I went with the current setup as a quick fix to a very irritating problem :) Will possibly go to 11.5 width or so in the future, and look at 315 or larger if clearance isn't an issue.

I just ordered the Nitto Nitto NT05 315/35ZR20. I am going to run it on my stock SVTPP wheel for the time being. I have read a couple of threads in here with people running them on stock. Hope there are no fitment issues. According to them it isn't. Can't wait to try them out.

To anyone who just got a 2013 or 14 shelby. I got cooper Rs3-s summer tires cause I saw them on a couple local rousemustangs. And a good replacement for the Goodyears. I had hoped they would do ok in some cold but they are worthless in below 50 degree weather.i learned a lesson here. Even when it's warm my car has to much power for them. They are brand new so now im selling them ..The are great for normal summer sports cars but horrible outside of summer. I'm waiting for my nitto 555r tires I think I will have some traction..

My 555r's were useless in below 50 degree weather too. At least at my power level(690rwhp). 2nd gear was a spinfest.

I'll tell you the 305/40/18 nt05r's were a great tire for both the track and street. I mean they were no bias ply 15" tire but they still performed very well. I cut 1.65 60ft on em but I also ran em a lot lower than the 20psi that you guys are talking about. And I made many 150 mi round trip to go to the track on them. Think I'm gonna try the 305/45/18 Mickey T's though with my gearing and power level I don't see that talk ass tire being too detrimental to performance especially since I do a lot of highway 40-150 races.
