Halfshafts for the 03? do they even exist yet?

Im thinking about a pair of DR's , but are we going to need upgraded halfshafts first, Im pretty sure the stock ones would last a little while but, what do you guys think?

I already cancelled my GKN stage III's I ordered for my 01 since I was told they dont fit the 03.

By the way, The nitto 275 40 17 would be perfect for the 17x9 wheels

I was told by SVT Reps/Ford engineers (in Arizona for an SVTOA event) that the half-shafts in the '03s are considerably stronger that in both the '99s and '01s.

My guess is that the '03 half shafts won't be nearly as prone to breakage as the '99s/'01s

I was told by several people that have had both the BFG's and Nitto's, that the BFG dr's are the way to go. Does BFG make that same size?

Yeah BFG makes the same size , but from what I heard the nittos are good to keep on you car at all times and wont wear as much as the BFG DR's , but I have heard the BFG's grip a little better.


Even though the 03 halfshafts are stronger I would feel better with some upgraded ones espically if GKN came out with some stage III's for the 03

If you're concerned about the half-shafts, it might not be a bad idea to contact GNK and ask them about the half-shafts on the '03; I'm guessing they are the '03 Cobra OEM supplier to Ford as they were the OEM supplier for the '99 and '01s.
