No real price range, but would like to get into a car for $5k ish maybe less. Everything but the tuning will be done by me. I would really like a 4v, or maybe a termi swap.
Welcome. To get a 4v for under $5k it would have to be a 96-98 cobra with a couple miles on it. You wont find any sort of termi swap for under $5k considering the drivetrain alone is worth $7k+ Either way good luck and $5k can get you a lot in the mustang world!
I think the 4v will come later. I was thinking something like a mark viii block with 99 conti heads and a termi take off blower. The $5k budget is just to get into something.
Welcome to the site. You can find a salvageable but not perfect 99-04 pretty easy for 5-6k. Don't give up on the 4.6 2v either. The 4v motors are the sexy choice but you can make an animal out of a 2v as well.

There's a flat black 96-98 cobra with 160k in it for 5k... She's deff hurting but for the right price could be a good project
