Help me find any dirt on this car

It's a 2001 audi S4 VIN waurd68d61a008358

I've run a carfax (posted in next post) which comes out clean, but if you've got any other resources, let me know. I am ready to purchase, just don't want to get a lemon or a car that was damaged or reconstructed in any way. The owner (original) says the car is perfect, but the price just seems too good to be true.

hit up some of the audi forums and if the guy was into modding i'm sure there's a trail of posts. carfax doesn't always tell the whole story.
can you run the equivalent of an oasis report that ford uses except on audis?

lol...the car is in NY and I am in Chicago. I dont want to go to NY to find out this car is jacked up.

You sound like a buddy. He just got a Neon SRT4 modded out in a BIG way. Its build was documented on a forum. After he got done he did not have time for it and put it up for sale. My buddy drove 6 hours one way to look at the car and bought it on the spot. It was more than what the guy had described. 2 sets of rims and new tires. All the original parts that were took off the car. Plus lots of extras. He says just for the engine mods he wanted to buy for his, he got a whole completed car. The car has a couple of small body dents and such but overall I would give it a 90%+. Plus it is extremely quick and he is extremely satisfied. You may be getting a deal like he did that you can't pass up. Good luck with it.

I'm sure its nothing, but whats with the date on the dash? 01.03.1999 ?

Other than that it looks clean, I would just some detailed pics of all the audio installs he has done to make sure its clean and not a hack job.

Looks like a nice S4 man. Are the automatics on the S4 pretty strong units.. ?

carfax ain't worth the paper they're printed on. while that is one clean car and all seems fine, you are right to look for more info if you can find it. my wifes's nissan was wrecked twice. once for over 4.5k in damages and nothing was ever reported to carfax. i did disclose all that info to the next buyer, but not everyone is so candid.
if you can find someone in the same city you trust, have them take it to a bodyshop and have it inspected for signs of previous damage. that is all the advice i can give you.
