Help needed on fuel pump install

I'm installing the 03 cobra pump assy in my 01 tank. The white plastic basket that is attached to the bottom of the tank do I take that out? Need help asap.

I've never done the swap but my inclination would tell me no.

That basket is a fuel can. it keeps the pump submerged under acceleration, deceleration and cornering when the tank isn't full.

If the 03 pump goes in with the basekt in place I would leave it.

Hopefully somebody that has done teh swap will chime in.

I took it out when i did mine, no problems so far.
