The hardware doesnt require alot of tensile strength. You can use pretty much whatever hardware suits your eye. I frequent Ace more than most people go to starbucks or relavent place. ARP's got my attention soley because of its looks

Thanks for the sanity check Troy. I like the ARP stuff no doubt, but it is pricey for just valve covers. Ill save the ARP stuff for my blower to intercooler, intercooler to manifold, and anything load bearing.

I went through Fastenal for my stainless allen heads. I got a set for my intake as well as the valve covers.

I may have a fairly neat idea brewing for those still interested in this thread. Pics coming as soon as I finish what I'm thinking about.

Here is a teaser pic. I ordered some nice flat head stainless bolts to use instead of the black bolt in the pic. What do you all think?

After looking at all the various setup's on here, I've decided to go with the Jegs SS 12 point bolts. I'll keep the MMR inserts for now and move on from there, depending on how is looks.

Looks good OP. I got mine at a local Fastenal. I got my blower bolts and valve cover bolts. I brought stock bolts with me and they measured them. They are stainless steel allen heads.

I made the washers from a similar part we use at work. I have to machine it down so it isn't too big in overall diameter. I have a little bit different style of washer I'm going to play with tonight, it will be countersunk as well.

Best I've seen so far, and I think that will be even better with polished stainless flatheads.

I was thinking about getting some black M6 counter sunk washers and flat head cap screws to go with my MMR billet pieces. Give it a two tone
effect.

Probolt sells the washers and bolts in many colors and diff materials too.

Thanks! I agree on the stainless flatheads. Hopefully they come before the weekend. I also am making some similar to those ones but in machine finish. Should look good as well. I will get some pics of both styles on a valve cover thats on an engine. I should have enough pieces for a few sets of covers if anyone is interested. Should have plenty of stainless bolts as well.
