Well to start with I'm 72 and way past doing what I did a couple of weeks ago. Brand new 2018 GT350 in Lead Foot Gray. Haven't driven a stick in 50 years, my Expedition felt kind of sporty when you ask her for some go until I drove this guy home. In between forgetting about the clutch at a stop or two and my slow learn in 1st I was shocked when I turned home on an empty road and well you know. One last thing I dreamed about a Boss 302 since high school so this was like a dream on steroids. Unlike a lot of you mine will never see the track (except for a small track near me where I think you run alone) or the strip. But it will sit covered in the garage and wait for me to need lift and so far it's been a lift.

So I have questions. I'm not putting any miles to speak of on it so how long do I wait to get the break-in oil changed? Will the car use time more than miles when looking at the oil change? When in normal expressway traffic do shift from 5th to 6th (what speed). Well those should install me as a rookie. Thanks in advance.

PS the Cobra badge gets lost on the gray/black background, anyway to get the red ones they use on the R.

Check your Ford dealer parts counter for the red Cobra. Personally, I wouldn't add an emblem that is unique to the 'R'. Your choice, though.

Well old guy , problem is
These cars were meant to drive .
More harm comes from being a garage queen .
Take some Viagra , and get with it , drive that car , don't just sit and look at it , and brag about what is in the garage .
I am being an assortment , but what I said is true .
Drive it .
And welcome .

Thanks for the advice Clip. just got signed up for a drivers training at a nice track in Cresson Tx. I plan to drive it frequently and these weekend road course experiences will increase my confidence and test my abilities. All I can say so far is I love the beast.

Welcome to the forum! Love the car, and hope that you don’t have the issues that some have had with excessive oil burning on that high revving engine. I love the GT350. It’s an amazing car and I look forward to hearing reports back on the enjoyment you get out of her!

Be sure to make plenty of grocery store runs and other meaningless trips in that bad boy! Enjoy it, don’t park it.

Nice car Chet! I have a 72 year old neighbor that really likes the GT350 as well. I took him for a spin in my Terminator a few years back and he loved it and keeps talking to my wife about it when he sees her - lol! I won't go on though and derail your thread!
