20190208_193703.jpg So theres been some hesitation with my car, nothing major, my JLT filter has seen better days, and i am running 93 octane on a 91 tune. So for funsies i decide to check my spark plugs NGK 7IX. With myaaaybe 10k on em, and imagine my horror when i pull these out... And my car is running awful. Suggestions?

I had aggravated issues with these as well. Switched back to the TR6 and my car ran better. There are various explanations and rebuttals but in the end, problem solved for me

Why do you say lean...I can't even see the electrodes there.

Looks like some water got down in there and the porcelain appears to be cracked on that one which will result in a misfire.

That doesn't look super lean to me. Best bet is to throw a wideband on the car.

Is the weather strip seal towards the rear edge of your hood still intact? If damaged or missing, it could be allowing water to leak down your coil pack wiring harnesses and through the rear coil pack cover grommet holes.

Not sure that'd be an issue. I've had my weather strip off for 4 years -driving in any and all conditions- and never had water get on the engine from the windshield area.

Just looked, the OP's avatar shows an 07-09... not sure if the hood overhang on the rear of the 07-09 is different than the 10+ cars.

The overhang is the same and it would drop any water right onto the cowl to be drained away. Not sure where everyone gets this idea that water from the windshield area can get down the spark plug tubes.

I've been known to wash and detail my engine. A bit of water isn't going to hurt anything.

Usually true but I’m guessing it’s no coincidence he drove in rain without a hood and now has signs of water on the plugs.
    How many plugs affected?

If just one plug, probably bore scope and compression check?

    Not lean.
Water got into the plug wells.

Buy new plugs, remove water, install new plugs. Done.
