Bought my first Mustang, a '98 Cobra a lil over a week ago.
Has 151k miles and paid $9200 for it.
Was told this was originally a MI car, 3rd owner.
I'm quite amazed for 23 yrs old its still on factory paint, original engine, and original clutch although it will need one shortly.

Bought mine May 01 - $29,500. #968. Now it has 72K and sits in my garage the last 3 years with a spun bearing. Just started getting it ready to pull the engine and trans. Hopefully next summer it will be running better than ever!

Bought it off the center of the show room floor December 28, 1998. First engine spun a bearing at 35,000 miles and replaced under warranty. Stock engine (160,000 miles) rebuilt by MPH in 2009 for boost and lasted 7 years. Currently being built by Mo’s Speed Shop in Atlanta with long tubes, stage 3 cam’s, T trim, intercooler.

I bought mine almost 3 years ago, very clean with 36k miles or so, it had developed a couple small oil leaks after I owned it and e85 is hard to get so it’s being remodeled. New 4.6( nothing wrong with the now 40k mile stocker) just higher compression, ported 9thread heads, turbo cams and billet oil pump gears. New Holley computer,New magnum from Tick(level 5), new driveshaft, rebuilt trac loc, new gforce outlaw axles and more powdercoat underneath plus a 6pt ( .095 4130) cage with a diagonal bar added in. So I have about what I paid for it back into it in parts. I think we got those leaks taken care of though.

Wow, @geoffmt, those are some serious and expensive mods. How many miles on it now?

I think it was at 40600 or so. Lots of fun and it just sort of snowballed into an avalanche. Always wanted ported heads and cams, a fully built new motor was handy. We tried to eliminate/ replace all the previous systems that had leaks and upgrade while there

Bought mine in late 08/ early 09.

Dated my wife in it, took it to my wedding, brought my 2 kids home from the hospital in it.

Made some great friends along the way.

Street raced it, road raced it, drag raced it, auto crossed it.

Car has given me some great memories. Paid 2500 bucks for it, sight unseen.

It's been 11.6 in the 1/4, and now is set up to handle and be a fun street car. 160k ish miles, dozens of bottles of nitrous, and still putting a big ol' smile on my face.

16 years.

Sold my '97 GT Vert in 2003 and later bought my '97 Cobra off a friend in 2006. He called me one night and said the military was sending him to Japan, and asked if I wanted to buy the Cobra. At first I was just amusing him, but when he said a price that was half of KBB back then, I said "give me two days!". And she has been mine ever since.

She's been garaged since 2009. Only been out a couple of times. In fact, this picture was her first time seeing the sun since 2012 and this was nearly a year ago. lol.
