How much louder is the Borla ATAK over Borla Stingers?

I watched a couple videos on Youtube of the Borla ATAK catback and damn, it's loud and sounds great. On Lethal's website, it's about $100 more than the Borla Stinger Catback, so I was just curious if anyone could tell me what the difference between the two are? This would be paired up with American Racing longtubes and their mid-pipes. Anyone who has this exhaust setup, please post up a video.

I have kooks with SLP LM2. And I am thinking about a change to the ATAK catback as well. Just not sure about the full time loudness of the borla unit.

I think there are two Cobra's on Youtube running the ATAK system and it sounded amazing to me. I love loud all the time though. Seems like more are running the Stingers, so I was just curious what the difference is.

I know plenty of F-body owners that don't like the way their car sounds, but they love the way it runs. They just don't sound that great, not terrible, but not great.

They sound the same. Atak flows less. I used to work there. Its two small perf cores and two standard pieces of pipe. Flow is less tone is different. It is all about marketing. David Borla at his finest. S type is the way to go.

So you're saying Stingers all the way then? I didn't realize the ATAK system didn't flow as well as the Stingers.

Put the ATAK system on a Buddies car (IAShelby) and I think it sounds great, and very easy to install. We are going to have a small get together next weekend, if he brings the Cobra instead of the Shelby we will try and get some video.

Exactly. Marketing gimmick. I sat in many meetings just to brainstorm a name for the shitty muffler design. Dave Borla picked this stupid name. Acoustically tuned applied kinetics.

If it were my car I would go magnapacks, with a catted H. If stingers were given to me, I would run them with a catted H. The H deepens the tone and smooths the sound. With a cost of a couple hp up top. It's worth it.

I had another member request a video yesterday so I had my wife begrudgingly stand in the driveway and capture some. I will pm it to you tonight.

I am in no way an expert like the former borla employee but I will say those on you tube sound nothing like my set up.

I like it. But in the end to each his own.

As 03snkvert mentioned I will get some more comprehensive video this weekend. Maybe we could do a multi-system comparison as many of our systems are different.

Depends on your taste. I have the Atak's on my 2012 and I hate them. Would gladly swap them for the Touring's if anyone out there wanted to LOL.

Not bashing f-bodies. Like I said I had 2 and a LS6 CTS-V. They have a horrible rasp and gargle sound to them that I just am not a fan of. Just my opinion, the LSX motors are awesome motors, just I'm not crazy about the sound. Under WOT a h/c/i LSX motot sounds good but besides that I'm not a fan. Mostly LS1's, LS7s sound awsome with some work. Once again, just an opinion...
