In A Perfect World With A Good Hooking Built Solid Rear What Is The Lowest Rwhp Will It Take To Get An 03' Going 9's. I'm Just Looking For Rough Estimates Or Facts That You Have On Anyone Going In The Single Digits. Car Will Be Lightened Up A Little Bit But Not Much. So I Guess The Question Is On A Full Weight 03'. Oh By The Way My Goal Is 9's If You Haven't Guessed.

I'd say if you had the auto and solid rear, 600 at least. With IRS and 6 speed probably something like 650-700. I believe there is a member here SSlayer96 or something like that with over 900 hp that runs 9's in his cobra.

I Would Hope With 500 Rwhp You Would Be Able To Muster Up A 10.99 If You Really Tried. I Was Thinking 650 To Go 9's. A Solid Axle And Tuning Suspension To Handle The Power Is What I Meant By Trying. I Guess What I Really Wanted To Know Is Who Goes 9's With The Least Amount Of Power. Having 700whp Ang Going 11.40 Is Not What I'm Looking For.

I think weight will play a big factor. If you can lose 100lbs to 200lbs that will help a fair bit. Horsepower wise I am guessing 700rwhp to break into the 9.99 range. These cars are too heavy. A guy up here in Calgary last season had an old 80's LX. Not sure what specific year, but he had a 347 with a T76 turbo. He was on a shitty tune and was running 650rwhp. Well he told the tech's he didn't know how fast it was gonna run(bullshit), but he went a 9.42, lost his brakes, had no rollcage and ended up in a field at the end of the track. He is running a 101mm turbo for this season!! I figure his car weighed about 3000lbs tops so it will take some hp to ge into the 9's with a Cobra.

Calgary is a hard track to run good times at because of the elevation and shitty prep so I figure about 700rwhp in a Cobra should be enough.

700rwhp is my guess and a lot of torque.

For a 6-speed, IRS car and at about 3750lbs you are going to need around 725-750rwhp.

Jay
you wouldn't happen to know that from experience, would you?
