How to tell difference from 03-04 Motor to 99-01 4v?

Just wondering if anyone can help me identify a 03-04 Termi motor compared to 99-01 Cobra 4v? Is there a serial number or stamp of some sorts? Asking as I might buy a 99 with a 03 term swap and want to make sure it is a 03-04 motor. Thanks in advance!

I think the 99-01 motors were aluminum blocks so that would be a dead giveaway. Assuming stock of course. Look under the car and see if the block is aluminum.

What color difference would it be from a Terminator block? I know it's a iron block right? Thanks

Take a magnet. If it sticks its iron. If it doesn't its aluminum.
