I am thinking that Ford should build a new 6G550/7G650 car with car R-model performance.

Had to pull out my sticker for my 95R to look.
Base vehicle 21,300
R package 13,699
gas guzzler 2,100
Des and Del 500
Total 37,599

Take a base Mustang and not quite double the price and we are still south of 100K. Tell the dealers your first sale over sticker is your last order. Instead of 250 units offer 2500 or 5000, enough to shut out the spec crap and bingo, everyone is happy. Guarantee a lot more of them would find the racetrack then all three of the previous versions combined. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday could be back in fashion.

The Ford bean counters don't share your logic. Doesn't hurt to dream, though.

How many GT500s did they make in 2020, 2021, 2022? What did they sell for?

Logic is flawed.

I don't think it would happen either, just comparing to what has happened, and still be possible to be under 100K. When the R cars had their day the Shelby logo wasn't paying like it does today. R market would have to be crude out of the box where said buyer would need to cage or otherwise modify the car if we are talking about what the R projects were for in the first place. Will it happen, unlikely. Would several of us want it to happen, certainly.

I've read the 2024 Dark Horse would be at ~$60,000. I like the car with the adjustable camber plates. It's half-way there.

I'd add 25% more track package and horsepower parts so that the new 2024/2025 Cobra R car would be in the MSRP $80K+ range.

I'd call it the 2025 Mustang Cobra R that has to be ordered in a 3-month period in one run in early 2025. Every Ford Dealer gets one for the showroom, and all previous orders will be made. Each car will would out-run the poorly engineered C-8 Corvette Z06.

I think you should just come to realization that you're going to have to settle for RTR Spec2 at 85k

The no tilte and no road use is a deal breaker for me.

I hope Ford will use this tech to release a street car in maybe 2024? It's the 60th Anniversary,

They already have the adjustale camber plates so add more options and call it call it closed.

Just got done reading this thread and cracking up that almost everyone was wrong except the part for under 100k. The upcoming 2025 Mustang GTD is the new Cobra R and then some.

It was called a 2025 Mustang Cobra R on another forum.

The big problem here is the UAW Strike which could shut down production for months or years. The foreign cars will do well with no real competition.

They need to bring back the BOSS 351,with a new 5.8 in it.700hp and N/A,9000 RPM!

They need to bring back a retro BOSS 429.... but I think it's too late for that as the direction of the Mustang design went Momaro (Mopar/Camaro)... and the inside is being designed by 16 yr old gamers....
