99/100 times. Those not wanting to go to the beach for vacation are the ones who can not get a tan. Whiteboysyndrom.

Thankfully I live 12 months a year at beach communities and would still vacation at beach resorts but won’t until the mask and vax bullshit ends. So for now all my time is spent at Naples Florida where I will spend most of my money on entertainment and Cape Cod.

I will never spend a dime for the privilege of wearing a mask or showing a vaccine passport which I will never possess. Evah.

I only drive back and forth from cape cod to Naples. Once a year.

Or they are fat af and don’t want to be seen shirtless …

… or they don’t want to be seen with their wife who has to wear a 1 piece bathing suit

My vacations are swimming in the Caribbean(although I didn’t care too much for the beach as a kid), snoruns in the mountains in central Montana or snowmobile trips to the bighorns or Yellowstone, or a long weekend of racing. When it’s ****inburr up here-20 or colder I like relaxing in the Caribbean, great diving/snorkeling, amazing food and booze and decent entertainment plus a constant 85 deg. Racing and snoruns usually end up costing more due to breakage. I don’t see any beautiful women in bikinis on a snorun and rarely see anything shiny at a race that isn’t a buddy’s wife.
Different vacations for different reasons, got to do the things that you like for you while you can. Next thing you know you are too old to carry your luggage on a plane and life got by you

Living in NC its mandatory that every family takes a week vacation at the beach. I'm pretty much split. I LOVE laying on the beach getting drunk and listing to a podcast/audio book but I also love the mountain house where we can hike/fish/kayak.

I'm a fan of both.

I have vacations where I do absolutely nothing. Care free, zero plans, just forget responsibilities. It might be just chilling on a friend/family's couch visiting or at a destination relaxing by the water, but I prefer a lake/river over beaches for those.

And I have "vacations" that are big experience trips/events where I'm doing something the entire time. I usually try to schedule a few days of R&R at the end before going back to work too though.

I don't like party beaches and areas with crazy drunk partiers. I enjoy areas like the OBX which isn't very commercialized. Not much traffic at all. No wild college kids. Just peace and quiet. No more than 2 or 3 people on the beach at a time.

If not the OBX, then Kuaui and Maui are our favorite places.

Last year went to Panama City FL...it was a drunk fest nightmare. There was a group of about 15 rednecks that came out on the beach everyday with a huge ass PA system and blast stupid music so loud you couldn't talk. One of the guys yelled "I dare some mother ****er to try and throw me off this beach." Every day they were escorted off by police.

Will never go to a party beach again.

Lazy beach vacations are good in my book. Hawaii is probably my favorite destination for that, specifically Kauai. Kauai is 'The Garden Isle" and is were most tropical movie scenes are shot (Jurassic Park [they used footage of the storm in the OG film], Tropic Thunder, Hook, F&F Hobbs and Shaw, to name a few). One of my favorite things to do there is the boat rides along the Na Pali coast. It is stunningly beautiful and there are some excellent hiking trails out there too. In the 90s hurricane Iniki unleashed on Kauai, it picked up farm animals and deposited them all over the island so now they have a wild boar issue and wild chickens running around. The Big Island is number 2 for me, I love Volcano national park and exploring the lava tubes was unforgettable.

Other than that lakes and mountains always recharge my batteries, I have a deep love for the Eastern Sierra mountains, my dad and I used to camp and backpack there when I was a kid. I definitely hiked some trails and sat on some boulders that John Muir had been on. Horseshoe Meadows was our favorite spot to enter The Golden Trout Wilderness, and is popular for equestrian adventures too.
Kauai is beautiful. That was one stop we did on our Honeymoon and we did a Na Pali coast boat ride and it was amazing.2159788D-F25D-47E4-ACFA-07D975DE9525.jpeg6B0753B2-5DAB-4329-8F3D-36B632C89093.jpeg9CB69882-777A-4766-9911-EF226B809772.jpeg

Personally I find the beach very boring and the ocean does not appeal to me in the least.

Going to museum’s and visiting places like the Kennedy Space Center and anything of historical or military interest fascinates me.

Man there is nothing better than an ice cold drink, watching the waves roll in, in the sun.. with a woman wearing next to nothing next to you.

I guess I’m in the minority.. I love vacations of doing nothing. Gf and I went to Arkansas a week ago for 3 days. Spent 2 working. 3rd day.. sat in the hot springs didn’t do shit. Loved it.

We don't get out much honestly. We both work non stop and save vacation to visit family in Florida where we grew up. It'll be a regret no doubt but oneday we'll get out more. We have dogs that are family and that limits our long-term outings to a degree. I'm more of a home body personally that would rather be working on the house, in the house and anything in the garage. When we do get out...I want to learn about the area and go sight-seeing. The beach as I mentioned earlier has always been the norm so IDGAF. When I was stationed in Sicily and lived on base I went to the beach every weekend during the summer. I later moved to the beach and listened to the waves hit the shore as I slept. I rarely went down to the beach when I lived on the beach. There was a separation of the house and beach by some woods. If you want a good vacation, do something you don't normally do. Step a little out of comfort zone, take in the sights, food and enjoy the company of your wife. If you're single...get some hookers.

I like seeing historical places I've never been. Enjoyed Philadelphia,Charleston, and Savannah in the last few years. I've never understood the appeal of flying to a third world country to lay on some beach but to each their own.
