But haven't the V8s become less and less an available option? At least with Ford? I mean when I bought my new Explorer in 2014 I wanted a V8 but it was no longer available with that engine. I remember when V8s were standard or an available option in a lot of vehicles but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore.I remember getting an oil change at my local ford dealership talking to one of the salesmen when the new 2015 models came out. He was telling me Ford was phasing out the v8 5.0s then and would only be available for a couple more years, and that the ecoboost and v6s would be available in N/A and supercharged options. I laughed in his face and called him an idiot and walked off. Never saw that guy again so i assume he quit or got fired.
V8s aren't going anywhere anytime soon, there's way too many people who still desire them. Now, there quite possibly will be a price increase, and the government will start taxing v8 vehicles heavily to push their bullshit green agenda. That's about it.
That seems to be unnamed "sources":
The answer, according to industry sources is “no,” but a battery-electric Mustang based on the Mach-E’s platform will make its debut about mid-2028 to replace what will be the last internal-combustion model.
While the Mustang Mach-e is assembled in Mexico with a Chinese-built battery pack, the current Mustang’s Flat Rock, Michigan, assembly plant is the expected factory for the last ICE model and first BEV model, according to one source, who says the plant would not have enough capacity to build both versions at the same time. However, we’d expect low-volume, high-performance ICE Shelby Mustangs to be built toward the end of 2028 production and hit showrooms late in the year.
The Mach-E architecture very likely offers battery chemistry and technology that would better maximize performance and range in an EV Mustang, compared with an ICE-based model. Expect a lower, sleeker two-door body versus the Mach-E, which already comes standard as a RWD model (no Probe issues here).
Not only are V8s less available as an option they are hard to find. But haven't the V8s become less and less an available option? At least with Ford? True, and likely because idiots don't vote correctly with their money. They settle for what's convenient or what's offered. But haven't the V8s become less and less an available option? I had a '14 RS5. They had a new RS5 with the V6 and torque converter. They were doing their best sales job to get me to upgrade. I told them that I didn't even like the DCT and told them what I want to spend my money on next. Older RS4's came with the 4.2 V8 and a manual; no reason Audi couldn't make it happen.the RS5 in the states, never came with a manual, so when did you have that conversation
Sadly true!Until 1 of us in here is the CEO or majority stake holder of an automotive company, there is no point to any of this.
We're just pissing into the winds of change and getting it right in our faces.
Wow that’s crazyI'll keep all my gasoline cars. And likely won't ever buy anything new ever again.![]()

If all this nonsense actually does happen I imagine they'll go the way of the payphones. As long as they do not take our gas stations away.
