I'll keep all my gasoline cars. And likely won't ever buy anything new ever again.

Dodge is going to be the canary in the coal mine very soon. Getting rid of their popular ICE powered Challengers and Chargers for some gay "muscle" EV that makes fake noises. The VAST majority of people buying these cars now don't want this product, I have a feeling sales are going to plummet. They can change their marketing campaign to "The Brotherhood of Green, Gay Shit."

Disclaimer: At this point I do not want an EV. At SOME point I won't have a choice. That said, let's remember that Ford is going the way of EVs just like all the others. They don't have a choice. IMO, Dodge is gambling that heavy marketing of their "muscle" EVs today will give them a one-up on the competition tomorrow. Ford is designing the electric Mustang quietly, while not talking much about the ultimate phase out of Ford ICE muscle. Won't be that long before we find out who the smarter company was, marketing wise. Again, JMO.

What's the average annual cost to charge an EV every night? Anyone have any idea?
It will vary depending on what someone pays per KWH.

But given the price per KWH and actual amount of charge a vehicle battery takes over the course of a year it can easily be done.

What I think a lot of people in California are forgetting is as we increase the number of EVs on the road power prices will rise rapidly.

This state is closing gas plants left and right, has forced PG&E to close diablo canyon and is failing to replace the megawatts lost adequately.

I think most will end up trading their monthly gas bill for an equal electric bill soon.

The absolute best, cleanest option is nuke, and today's nuke tech cannot replace oil, according to this study. Solar and wind also heavily depend on oil in the mining and construction of their basic components of operation.

I like the part where it says “some boomers will be upset”. So they are implying that boomers are the only ones who care about ice? I think they’re going find out real quick that was a huge miss in there research.

No doubt. The youngest boomers are nearly 60 years old. They think they are the only ones who care? Ha!

For sure we're going to see increased costs for electricity. The costs for expanding the electric grid alone is going to end up being passed on to the customers over time. But these future electricity cost increases are not in the discussion. "It's all good." "Don't even give it any thought." Yeah, right!

You're 100% correct Bob.

There are all kinds of additional costs not being discussed.

For example disposal of wind turbine blades is not possible in California last I checked. The blades are a composite material that NO landfill will take and is also not cost effective to recycle.

Because of this when companies demo their wind turbines they drop the blades and just leave them. Eventually something will have to be done but at what cost?

Somebody has to pay the bill and it will either be done by the consumer directly or through some BS tax initiative.

Wait until you guys see what a cluster the Gen 4 Coyote really is. It's going to make good power in stock form, but you better like it that way.

Amazing what has happened in just 3 years... now just imagine what another 3 years will bring... Full retard on an exponential scale..

Extra taxes and crazy electrical rate hikes will help push this along. Don't count on any Repubs reversing this either.

Save your cash fella's, this will be coming here when everyone starts realizing EV's are trash and don't buy them at the rate the government and Greta think they should.

Wow... now that's crazy, cutting financing on gas cars.

That would snap the market back to reality in a heartbeat.

I would argue that 84 month loans creating our current price structure is what's artificial. So yes.

Um. Not sure cutting all financing for ice cars would be in the same neighborhood as offering 84 month loans to a segment of dumbasses.

Stick a million to 8 million people in a city.

These people have the most practical application of an electric vehicle.

End game is no way to charge the multitude of vehicles.

Take semi-rural to actual rural Americans. No practical use, but probably better charging probability.

Go green fools.

Edit: if I could by a long range Lightning for ~60k, I’d do it. It would be a great supplemental vehicle for regular trips and powering shit in weird situations.
