I don't see another GT500 in my future, & it has nothing to do with cost..

I'll wait a year and then decide after the price levels out.

To be honest, the clutch finesse is a PITA in the '14. It's either chatter the tires, lug, or slip excessively to avoid the 1st gear whump. Running virtually any other MT out there is a breeze in comparison when trying to be polite on the street. Auto would be fun, though I would miss that feeling of satisfaction after nice rowing.

Also, the troll was successful, in case anyone is wondering.

Does it come with a 30 year mortgage? Will it's resale value go up?

No: Costs too much, probably wont have the unique engine & power desired (5.2 with blower and 750 = YAWN) , or wheel/tire/suspension setup to handle it, 15+ are ugly to begin with, so good luck there.....yea, just pretty much no interest.....Im praying to God the 650 platform corrects all this.

No, he's just Canadian, which is similar but slightly, ever-so-slightly different. :)

Reading this thread, it appears very few people posting here have any plans to buy at $85K. Let alone the actual out-the-door price. Whatever ford releases, I fear that GM is sandbagging the ZL1 and waiting to one-up Ford right after they announce specs. Without even raising the price of the current model. Yeah I know, "it has poor visibilty" and "it is ugly". But performance is what matters to most rational people.

The new GT500 will be an awesome car and likely be $100K+ out-the-door (fully equipped).

What astounds me is that this thread is full of personal attacks and homophobic remarks, etc and it is the OP who got banned. Just ****ing sad. The moderation here is pitiful. Ban me too, I give a ****. Or just make a bunch of hollow threats, whatever.

I am not planning on spending that kind of money on a Ford either. Used to be they treated SVT owners special, now it is just another car.

If I was still working yes I’d buy the car at 85k.

But I’m enjoying retirement more than I enjoyed working so my 14 GT500 is the end for me.
I own it and it’s been a great car.

At $85k I'd be hard pressed. As much as I'm sure it will be amazing, that price point opens up many European performance options such as a C63 AMG or TTRS or RS5, etc. Those, to me, would be more appealing if spending that kind of cash

At $85K out the door I would still have a very difficult time justifying the price point. I don't race on road courses, so the bragging right that my car can potentially handle better and complete a circuit faster than your car on a road course essentially means nothing to me.
To me, looks are very important, street prowess, and how much I enjoy driving the car. Don't care about winning every stop light to stop light race, or racing to 180mph on the interstate. Those days are behind me.

So a production mustang at $85K, or a Z06 at $85K, despite being "under-powered" at 650hp/650ft/lbs I would most likely choose the Z06. In my subjective opinion it has the looks, creature comforts (love the removable roof), tech, and performance that I am looking for. For straight line capabilities a guy I know locally has a 2017 Z06 that knocked off 10.7's in the 1/4 mile stock with an A8. To me that is plenty of capabilities off the show room floor.

I just got back from my local dealership for an oil change on my wife's '16 Expedition...walked around the lot and looked at a new Expedition Platinum: $83k MSRP! New car prices are just skyrocketing. Crazy.

$85k for the new GT500 is steep. Not sure I can justify that, unless it has at least 100hp more than my '14.

85K isn't that the price for a new GT350R out the door? So which is a better deal a GT350R or a GT500?
