A new trend in vehicle modification is on the horizon. Armed with the build experience of 35+ hobby cars, Chris Savard (a.k.a. INFAMOUS) is changing the way we follow the vehicle modification process. Under tight time lines and with the tools found in his own garage, Chris will be modifying these cars LIVE. That’s right; all of his work will be streamed live via his website from January 1-March 11, 2010, introducing you to, The Infamous Project.

In just under three months time he will be transforming not one but two cars from a “recovered state” to show worthy cars, entitled, “3 Months, 2 Cars, 1 Dream”. With the help of a few friends here and there and some Sponsors, these two cars will be unrecognizable when compared to their current state. The vehicles in questions are, a 1989 Mustang GT Convertible which suffered vandalism, and a 1992 BMW 325IS AC Schnitzer which suffered severe burns. Upon completion of the project, he will be revealing them in the Performance World Car Show at the International Centre, Toronto, Canada on March 12-14, 2010.

Hailing from Peterborough Ontario Canada, Chris has just completed his Masters Degree in Information Technology at Griffith University in Gold Coast Australia. His recent absence from his hobby over the past year has made him want to do something a little different and more challenging. The decision to build both these cars came about when the idea was presented to get something into Performance World for 2010. Having already a show worthy 2000 SVT Lightning, he wanted more of a challenge and decided it would be a great concept to share with all.

Having had a hand in building countless amounts of cars and personally owning over 30 Fox body Mustangs, 10 E36 BMWs, and 3 SVT Lightnings, Chris is not lacking any knowledge of these two builds for the short time frame he is given to get them done. He hopes to be able to share his experiences, challenges and complications as they come during the builds, as we all know building cars isn’t as easy as seen on most TV shows.

The Mustang will deliver to you performance in all areas, from body and paint to custom suspension, interior install, this car will be getting the full treatment. The main goal of the car is to achieve the lowest static drop on a fox body. With the use of Drop spindles from Racecraft, Custom drop Springs and use of modified Lower control arms from Maximum Motorsports, it is safe to assume there will be some bump stop removal, exhaust modifications and fender rolling to get this car to drive down the average city street. To be finished in satin black with a smoothed body including some add-ons from Cervinis, this will be one stealthy Fox Body. Do not worry, there are some performance parts to be bolted on such as, intakes, headers, and a Vortech supercharger to help spin the 18” Chrome Saleen wheels.

The BMW will feature the completion of cosmetic restorations, as when received, the car had suffered from an engine bay fire. Prior to leaving for Australia, Chris managed to strip out the burned and melted engine, restore the engine bay, install a new engine, repair the wiring, complete a 5-speed conversion and repair some of the other damaged parts. Aside from full body and paint, the project will focus on installation of performance suspension and handling parts. Moreover, the car will be getting some performance parts such as, cams, headers, exhaust, cold air intake and more. With the addition of these parts to its current list of modifications, this Bimmer will turn some heads.

The Infamous Project is a non-profit project and both cars plan to be driven and showcased over the summer of 2010. Chris later plans to sell his projects (as he usually does after some enjoyment) and continue new builds, as he has had his eye on an E39 M5 build for quite some time.
