Uhm, "all this money" needed to be spent anyways. I needed a new engine. I had wiped out cam lobes on the passenger intake and exhaust cams and had metal shavings go through my motor, and had a blown head gasket, and piston slap, so regardless I was already looking at a rebuild. The only non-factory parts used on this build were the Kooks headers (used paid 400$), Ford GT supercar rockers (300$), heads were ported for free, Accufab TB was 300$, JLT was 200$, those "cams" you mention were Factory take outs from a 96-98 cobra, I paid 200$ installed for them. The cobra intake was 400$. What is that like 1800$ plus rings, bearings, gaskets, and the cost of pistons and .020 overbore? The whole new engine was somewhere around like 3K which is less than what a factory OEM ford 4.6 4v crate engine costs.

LOL, I'm well aware. You mentioned it about 15x in this thread.
However you will find out a lot more info if you post in the correct area.

Asking how to get 300hp out of a B head 4.6 in the Time Slip Bar isnt going to get you very far. Just sayin'.
    Good luck in your adventure.

Stock engine has the same valve springs, valves, etc. as a stock 96-98 cobra. How well do they handle being revved over 6k ALL the time? Pretty easily.

I didn't ask HOW to do it. I know how, I was asking what other similar builds made, which should also have an ET to back up their numbers. Thus I posted my question in the time slip bar. Thanks for your invaluable insight

You asked for opinions, received them, and then argued with what you were told.

Welcome to SVTP and enjoy your stay.
I really hope you stick around, we need all the B head guys we can get.:D

I get it. but my point was money could have been better spent to achieve your 300rwhp or more goal.. imo. Wouldn't need to be here 2ng guessing and listening to everybody's opinion. (example) $300 on rockers? , $200 JLT .... waste... that money alone could have spent on decent pistons and bumped compression.. 300hp would have been no question. ect...

Rockers/Cam followers. OEM were barely cheaper than the ones I purchased and the FR500 rockers are much better than the OEM mark 8 ones. I wanted 300 Rwhp N/a. Boost would have been easy to hit much more than 300RWHP even on 8 psi and a stock short block. I wanted the fastest n/a 4.6 4v based mark 8 when I started the rebuild so that's what I shot for. The fastest n/a 4.6 4v mark 8 has gone around 12.50 in the 1/4. That's my goal.

I feel like you should lay down something decent if you wind the motor out. In my '02 Ford Explorer 4x4 with the 4.6 2V, I put down 216hp on a 91 tune, CAI and cat-back.

Car is put together, and running now. Just got it running on a mailorder SCT X4 tuner with a BBR 91 octane tune. Car still runs rough, once I get a few more problems worked out it should be good to go

Is that BBR as in Blow By Racing?

Correct. I bought the tune from a Mark 8 specific tune provider (do not wish to mention names) and was not told it would be a BBR tune upon placing my order.

I mostly rely on vintage cars because not only are they robust, but they do not fudge you company.
