4-5 years ago when the economy was good i took mine down to carmax to see what they would give me, 6500 for a 98 coupe with 72xxx on it and iirc kbb was around 10-11k. most were going for around 8-9k on the private sales.

Your 1st clue to a scam is the email address only. Don't get within a country mile of this guy!!!
Saw those exact pictures on a Houston CL ad a few days ago for far more money. Definite scam I bet he'll ship it with a 60,000 dollar check from Nigeria for 3,000 total.
I so want to flag that listing for a scam lol........I was trying to find some kind of inconsistency with the description but all I could find was the description says something about it being in an indoor showroom but the pictures show it being at a car show. The 10th VIN character checks out for being a 98. If its not a scam, then they probably mis-typed and forgot the "1" to make it $12,850 which would make more sense.
I have noticed since I bought my 98 cobra in 2006 it was valued at $10,500 with 70,000 miles. And now its only at $8,100 with 84,000 miles. I thinki that is a terrible drop in valus!!!!
