Getting ready to do my first oil change and read the sticky on oils. I planned on using the Jimmy recommended 31530 HPS 5W-30 but I'm searching online and finding a part number of 36530 that is also called HPS. Is this the same thing?

On a side note I'm okay w/ 6 qts, saw some were filling with more.

Thanks but I want to give RP a shot, never used it in a car before.

I think I figured it out...I think the 36530 is the 6-pack and the 31530 is a single qt.

My car had massive valve train noise on RP HPS so I switched back to Mobil 1 and it went away. If you want aerospace grade motor oil I do know of a brand that far exceeds any oil anyone here has used it’s just expensive but has a 15k+ service interval.

I use RP 5W30 HPS. no issues last 5 years. I just buy a 5 gal bucket last 3 years.

Search this on Amazon

Royal Purple 35530 HPS 5W-30 High Performance Street Synthetic Motor Oil with Synerlec - 5 gal.

Amsoil is another one to look at. I used their trans fluid and my t56 does shift better .

I might change over to their engine oil soon.
