Wasn't there a thread on here back in the day where there was a big debate on whether it's a "Mustang" or a "Shelby"?
Could've even been back in the s197 generation, I'm not sure.

I have a friend who owned a Shelby call my terminator a Shelby, but would call his own Shelby a Cobra. Not sure wtf was going on in his head. But at the end of the day I didn't care

Have those guys down here. Got into a HUGE discussion on it and they insisted it was not a Mustang and no where did it say it was. Apparently the Window Sticker doesn't say Mustang. When you build it on Ford's website it does. Those guys need to own a BMW or something. Tool Bags

I found this info using Google.
"To my knowledge, 2007 thru 2012 MY GT500's had for a vehicle description "Shelby". ....Window stickers for MY 2013/14 GT500's have for a vehicle description "Mustang".

"2013/14 GT500 Coupe with Performance Package (821A) = Mustang
2013/14 GT500 Coupe without Performance Package (820A) = Shelby GT500
2013/14 GT500 Convertible with or without Performance Package = Shelby GT500"

So the window sticker will vary by model year and even within a model year. It could relate to Ford's contract with Shelby with various MYs. Nick probably has info on this.

But without the Mustang would Shelby have even been involved in automobile manufacturing?
