Nissan is a weird one. Good company with good history, but they just haven't been at the forefront for a long time now. They settled at being 3rd best when they were always known to be a 1st place competitor in their heyday. They've settled for falling back to being just slightly better than Mazda and Mitsubishi.

There has only been two car manufactors in histoy that have not filed bankruptcy. This isnt anything unusual.

Tesla and Ford are the only ones that have not been bailed out and the Japenese goverment has already pledged to bail them out just as we have done here in the USA for our car companies.

When was the last time anyone on this site considered buying a Nissan ??
.
Bought my college bound daughter a new Sentra earlier this year It was several thousand cheaper than the competition and came with all of the safety features in a lower trim level. It's an appliance that will be relatively safe. I was looking for something that would last her about ten years which I think the Sentra will easily achieve with minimal maintenance.

I bought a GTR six years ago. Loved that car.

Wife bought an Armada Platinum at the same time. It was decent but there were better options. She now has a Wagoneer which is a massive improvement.

I had a Infiniti QX56 for the last 5 years and just traded it in for a Nissan Titan about 6 months ago. I think their sedan and small/midsize suv is pretty bland but I like the Armada/QX80, Frontier, and Titan.

The only thing Nissan has that excites me is the girl in their commercials. Other than that I wouldn't consider anything they make. The GTR hasn't been significantly improved since 2009. The Titan I had was a huge piece of crap with cracked exhaust manifolds and a blown trans by 70k miles. The new Z is nice but for $60k I would rather have a used C7 or C8.
