my son just got pulled over because his registration sticker was not in the upper right hand corner. does it matter where it is as long as it is on the plate ?

If i remember right the paper it comes on says it should be on the top right corner, and when you get new plates it comes that way from the DMV. I just don't mess with that stuff. Maybe if he relocates it before the court date they can void the citation?
he didn't get a ticket , he was told to move it though. that would be kinda tough seeing as to how they are made to tear apart if you try to take one off. i guess i can try to move it tomorrow.

Most likely there is. Ask the DMV while you are there. Most states are very specific about where shit like this is placed because it makes it easy for law enforcement to verify its up to date without having to spend extra time finding it.
i was actually able to peal it off and place it in the upper right corner without tearing it !

That is why we have the indention on the plates the exact same size as the sticker...
they started making new stickers this year and they are twice as big as the indention.
here is a pic of it.
I was able to heat the sticker and move it when my Mother got her new plate and stickers. She put them on the wrong spots on the plate too.

The new stickers this year are absurdly large! My brother has his in the center of the plate, hope he doesn't get any grief over it.
