You have done the trouble shooting well beyond many, and this is the first thread where I have added the KB TB update info. that I know about. It was not until recently (the last couple of years) that I knew anything about KB TB updates..........

When i received the TB from Kenne Bell i read the instructions and came with a tinny Ziploc bag with the bushings and the tool to adjust the spring. I thought this was standard procedure until i started reading about it that was an update. It makes total sense that is needed to avoid the plastic case cover binding once is put together.

When i inspected the issue, i noticed right away. I removed the screws slowly and the blade got lose so i figure it is just super delicate and has to be tightened very light. Maybe my old 2013 plastic and motor is not that fresh and once i replace it with new parts will be 100% good. I will wait until i have another incident because that last incident was the only one after this adjustment.

Definitely don’t bail on the KB168.
It may take some time and tuning, but it’s worth the effort.
    Good luck.

I just installed my 2.8LC kit in March. I have the dual 75mm TB and it came with an addendum and the two small bushings for the screws. After install, everything runs good. I would assume that I have the latest update.

I would guess that you do, the Version number (Vx) stamped in TB housing would be the best way to verify through KB. My version number was stamped in the alum. on the back side between the blades. I believe the Silver plunger spring was an earlier update, before the bushings, so you should be good...
