Is it harder on the drive train, etc. to launch using traction control than with it off?

I do know that you should NOT do 3500 rpm tire spinning burnout launches with traction control on!

What I found out is that the traction control attempts to pulse the brakes to get the spin under control. It will continually do this so when you are trying to spin the tires it makes the system VERY unhappy. Eventually you will get a light come on that says "Service Advancetrac System" and the ABS light will be on too. Then you have to limp home and pray you didn't break anything.

It also seems to induce fishtailing do to intermittent rear brake application.

I've used tc at the track with street tires, just leave off idle, it does all the work for you.
now if you have d/r's or slicks turn it off, way more fun leaving off the line with sticky tires and no t/c
