First, before the regulars shit all over me..... I tried various searches and found nothing.

My 99 is leaking on the drivers side, front of the head, right where the timing cover and the head and valve cover all meet. The engine was replaced about 10K miles ago with a new shortblock. 30K total miles.

My question is....will a regular balancer puller work to remove the balancer? Or do you need a newer version. Mine is the standard style I use to pull off "old style" pushrod engine dampers.

Any other special tools required?

Thanks.

i use a standard harmonic dampner puller from sears. works great

I used one from Autozone (I'm sure it's the same style as the one from Sears) and it worked fine.
