The supplier, by contract, cannot unilaterally change materials. This was Ford's decision. Research it further. Ford signs off on design/engineering changes. The wording used in some of those articles doesn't tell the whole story. To imply Ford had no idea regarding the materials change simply isn't true.

That's absolutely true. Ford initiated the material change and supplier made the change. That's a standard procedure all auto manufacturers followed. No supplier would change the material without the auto manufacturers request. Every change is document so no finger pointing later.

Neither Ford or NHTSA show any recalls on my car. Camera has been replaced, but the brake bracket has not.

You might be a lucky one then. Hopefully the correct part was used.

My car showed up on OASIS and the part is getting installed on Wednesday.
I was just showing that the recall may not show up on either website, but can show up on OASIS.

@Tob can you get with your parts guy and have him check and see what other model Mustangs have the same bracket as the GT500, FR3Z-2455-AF?

How long did they have the car to do the camera replacement? Do you know what was involved? Do they have to take apart the dash or just something in the trunk?

Nov 13th and it took about 15 min. The camera is in the trunk lid and they only have to remove the cover to get to the camera.

yah. It was titled with 5 miles on it. He trailered it to his collection/warehouse and parked it. he periodically would drive them just around his garage just to keep fluids moving I suppose.
Now that car is what I would deem a collectable. Add that is was the last GT500 that Carroll Shelby had input in it's development, makes it extremely valuable. Low, low miles, little usage and likely pristine. What a get!

So what made him sell it?

Well...this is part of his collection. I believe he traded it back in to the dealer he bought it from to get their only 2020 GT500 allocation...

Yep, just had both recalls done on my 2020 GT500 - brake pedal assembly and the back up camera. Both replaced under recall/warranty. Next up, hood alignment issue. big drop off on the passenger's side vs. perfectly lined up on the driver's side. Had a very bad rattle in the back that ended up being the roof antenna harness. They had to add padding to get it to stop bumping the bare metal. Ah Ford, your are def. no AMG. My daughter's BMW 330i at 1/4 the price has way better build quality!
